Is there a Min Stay Requirement?

Absolutely! Of course, not for this coming NYE, because that has been booked full for months already.

Just FYI, NYE is probably the single most popular night that is booked.

I know for a fact that Standard View Studios at BWV will completely book within a few hours of MS opening for the day, right at the 1st day of the 11-month booking window.

We've done NYE at WDW 7 times now. It's a great time to go. Won't be there this year (NYE 2007), but will be back for NYE 2008 and NYE 2009.

As someone who will also be looking to book NYE '08, are the phones crazy that day? Is it like trying to book a Members Cruise?

What day do you have to call in 08 to get it for next year?Jan 31st??

February 1st. 11 months prior of Jan 1st, your check-out day if you are booking the night of Dec 31.

It's not near as bad as booking the member cruise.

Standard view Studios at BWV seem to go the fastest, probably because of their proximity to Epcot, and the lower points for Standard views.

There is also some corollation between day of the week. NYE 2008 is a Wednesday. Being mid-week demand will probably be a little lower. I've noticed higher demand when people can have NYE as part of a long weekend.

And while standard view Studios at BWV may book a little faster, other villa types and other resorts will not be as fast. There will still be plenty of villas available at 10 months, 9 months, and so on. It's the type of villa that determines demand. I hear OKW GV's are also popular for NYE. But something like an OKW 1-b/r, or an SSR 1-b/r, should still be available well into 2008.

There is no min stay currently but DVC could institute one at some point to as many as 5 nights.

During our first year of marriage, a group of us went to NYC, Times Square for NYE and now that we're hitting 40 years, (we're celebrating all year!) we wanted to do something special next NYE...and WDW is getting our vote. I'm glad to read this. Thank you for the info.

Aha, Bobbi! We celebrate 40 this next year too! Can we join you?? LOL, actually, we will be doing Disney early November next year to accomodate BIL and his family.

Also, don't forget...

If you are booking for one night, you get your room "after 4pm" and have to be out by 10am. You might get lucky and get in early, but you cannot (or are not supposed to) stay late. For one nights points, that could be only 18 hours (or less).

On New Year's Day, you may not want to get up early enough to be out by 10am, especially if you are "ringing in the new year".;)

If you have a change of heart about NYE, the answer from here is definitely YES! We would love to celebrate at WDW with you! We're planning a Monday to Friday visit that week.

PS. Of course DH does know about you...the couple who live in a home that rivals the VWL!

Good Point. But one thing to correct. Checkout is 11:00 AM, not 10:00 AM.

And after staying up late on NYE, I'll bet that extra hour will really be needed...:rotfl2:

Oops, you are correct. For some reason I thought they had changed it to 10am. (I'm sure it's only a matter of time  )
