I have read all of the stickies about summer touring etc but have not found a list of rides/shows/restaurants with air conditioning. I am planning our first Aug. trip (we so far have mostly taken winter trips) so this information would be useful. Is there a list somewhere or could you all help me make one? :confused3 Thank you :goodvibes

I don't know of a list off hand, but jot the Tiki Room down - that one is definitely air conditioned. I would imagine any of the shows (like Aladdin, etc.) are also air conditioned, but the Tiki Room is what jumped out at me. I know there is an obvious one I am forgetting too, and I just can't think of it right now!

I don't know about a list but I can add a few that I thought of too.

-The HISTA show. Yes, it's outdated but if you want a place to sit in the AC that could be a good choice.
-Space Mountain. A decent part of the queue is inside plus the ride is inside.
-The animation building at DCA
-Innoventions
-Pirates
-HM
-Small World

The last 3 all have queues outside but the rides are pretty long and have AC. Avoid Mr Toad and also Alice (I think because it is above Mr Toad) is also warm in one area.

As far as restaurants. I would say that the coolest places would be the sit down restaurant if you sit inside. Although I think WCT was a little warm when we went because they had the doors open to the outside patio.

Hope that helps a little!

Ooooh! You just reminded me, LavenderPeach! That was the "really obvious one" I was trying to think of - the Animation Building in DCA. That is an excellent place to not only get into an air conditioned space, but to sit down in a dark room and rest your eyes (well, supposedly everyone is looking up at the screens, but some people were resting!).

Also, if you wander out of the parks and into any of the hotels for a break, the big, spacious lobby of the GCH is PERFECT for cooling down and relaxing. Not only is it cool in there (not in the fireplace area, but in the main lobby area), but the chairs and sofas are comfy and it is easy to get a little TOO comfortable in them and not be able to move!!

DISNEYLAND (air-conditioned shows)
- Tiki Room
- Billy Hill & Hillbillies
- Honey I Shrunk the Audience

DISNEYLAND (rides to escape heat)
- Space Mountain
- Indy (can be a bit stuffy in the queue but it's at least out of the sun)
- Splash Mountain (If you FP this you'll remain mostly indoors and shade)
- Haunted Mansion (queue is outside but ride is A/C)
- Pirates (16-min ride indoors with A/C)
- Star Tours (most of queue is indoors, ride is also)
- Winnie the Pooh (always a short line, ride is indoors)
- Small World (queue is outside but ride is long and indoors)
- Roger Rabbit (FP it and the wait will be short; ride is indoors)

DCA (air-conditioned shows)
- Aladdin (but queue is outside)
- Turtle Talk (show and queue is indoors)
- Muppet Vision 3D
- It's Tough to Be a Bug

DCA (rides to escape heat)
- Soarin' (If you FP it you'll be indoors for the queue and ride)
- Monsters Inc (most of queue is outside but ride is indoors)
- Tower of Terror

Also, the shops are typically very well air conditioned. Disneyland has a lot of large trees and therefore you'll find it much easier to find shade than in DCA.

When, I need to cool off I go for Pirates of the Caribbean or go ride grizzly river run. If you FP it, you won't have to wait too long. The best part is, you get soaked and are nice and cool for a while after you get off.

Don't forget to take advantage of the lockers right next to the ride. They are free for the first two hours!

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't all the attractions/rides that are indoors air conditioned?

Innoventions is also an air-conditioned place, and it's good if you can get in when there isn't much of a line to enter.

I just got back and it didn't feel that way to me. In fact, I wondered where all the AC was on most those listed. The only ones I felt cool on was the Pirates and Space Mountain (this was a little on the cold side but I also rode it during magic morning). Innovations was ok too. It's not that the rides felt unbearably hot, they just seemed to have the same temp as the outside - I didn't walk in and think "Ahh - this feels nice". Aladdin started to get uncomfortable towards the end.
