Hello. I thought I'd seen a thread about there being a hotel IN the MCO airport? I may be totally wrong, and it doesn't sound right to me...however, I ask because we may fly in a day early (before our package begins) but we will be getting in at 9pm..and just assume stay at a close hotel before heading to disney the next morning...also, would be 1 less day on the car rental...not sure if I can rent a car that late at night any way?
I thought I saw someone say something about this and am wondering the best way to go about arriving late at night...any help is appreciated! Thanks!

The hotel in the airport is a Hyatt I believe. Also, you shouldn't have a problem getting a rental at that time if you wanted to go somewhere else.

k...i found the hyatt that's in the airport...but for $134/night, we might as well just go straight to disney, since we r staying in a value it's cheaper...but can we even pick up a rental car at like 10pm?!

Extra day of rental car, gas, tolls, and your time...it's possible that 134 vs 90-whatever for the Value just might end up being equal when you take everything into account.

(and 134 is a good price for the Hyatt Regency, from what I've noticed)

We get in at 5pm and we're staying there. :) Just want a night to sleep, and we had a nearly free night through hotels.com, and it just seemed like a better idea than to rush over to WDW.

The only difference is the extra day of rental car. The gas & tolls will be the same whether you go to WDW at night or the next morning.

Also, I'm not sure if a "day" at a rental car is a 24 hour period or a simple "day" (ie: if you pick up a a car at 11:59:59p, are you charged for a "day"?).

Let's say you're dropping the car off at 1pm on a Monday. As long as you pick it up after 1pm Friday, but before 1pm Saturday, is that's one "day"? If so, it would be cheaper to go on to WDW that night.

Of course the other question you have to have answered is "Is there availability at the value resort for a room only night?" I know there have been threads on the Resorts forum that some values and mods are sold out for certain periods in Sept.

good point, silly me. :)

A day of rental car...I think you'd have to look at the whole rental, wouldn't you? Depends on what time you're dropping the car off to see how many days or 24 hour periods there are in there, and if it changes with late night vs early morning?

I paid less at the hyatt using AAA discount. It was $89 or $99 a night. We had to book a room last minute there, they can cancelled our flight home.

yup there is a hotel in the sirport. and it looks like a pretty nice one to me. it seems very convient

On-site rental facilities are open 24/7 and yes you can get a car at 10pm. If it were me I would go ahead and check into the value late at night. If you were checking into a $500+ a night suite then my answer may be different. Since you are renting a car you will be ready to hit the parks the next morning and not having to worry about navigating early AM traffic and repacking a car.

We got into MCO late for our February trip, and stayed at the Hyatt. Got a great deal from Lastminutetravel.com...cheaper than our resort (POFQ). The next morning we, my wife and my self, and two other people were put on one of the large DME buses and driven to our respective resorts, dropped off luggage, and made it to whichever park before rope drop. Just didn't feel like checking in late at our resort, which would have put us there after midnight.

There are also hotels near airport that offer free shuttle. If we get in late or have early morning flight, we'll take shuttle to hotel, then next morning shuttle back to airport and pick up car.
As long as you don't have tons of luggage, works great!

Just be sure you're getting the Hyatt Regency in MCO, not Hyatt Place, which is a separate hotel (still near the airport, but not IN it).
