Is there a hairstylist that will come to your resort for only one person?

I contacted Patricia LeJeune's company to see about having her do my hair for our VR next year and was told that she won't come out on a weekday for less than 4 services (4 hair, 2 hair & 2 makeup, etc.). I figured travel fees or early morning fees would cover any "minimum" there might be, but I guess not.

None of the other women in our group will be having their hair or makeup done, and even if they were, it wouldn't be at 5:00 a.m. when I'm having mine done for the MK photo session.

Is there anyone who's only had their hair done, and been the only one having it done? If so, can you please let me know who you used? TIA!! :goodvibes

i can't believe she has such a restriction since she charges a travel fee. Seems like she is too big to do one person's hair! how else will she earn over $100 before 6am?

have you tried beaute speciale?

Wow! Not only is Beaute Speciale coming out to do my hair and makeup for the wedding - they are coming out AGAIN the next morning to re-do it for our MK/Epcot photo shoot!!

I am getting hair and makeup with fake eyelashes - that's it, only me. I would contact them, they have been awesome!

Are you sure you didn't misunderstand? She came at 4am for my 6am MK shoot and it was just for me.

On my wedding day it was my mom and I both getting done.

Her husband, randy, is the one who handles all her bookings. maybe you should call him and get a this info confirmed?

If it is correct, I am shocked because I think she'd lose a lot of DFTWs business. A lot of weddings may only have just the bride getting done.

Randy is the one who emailed me. I don't think I misunderstood. This is what he wrote:

"As for our availability, we do have availability for October 26, 2011, but
we require a minimum of 4 services (2 hair/2makeup, 4 hair/makeup, etc.)
for a weekday reservation. Would any one attending your vow renewal be
interested in services? Please let us know."

It sounds like I should be contacting Beaute Speciale!

Wow, that totally sucks.

Yeah, I'm pretty bummed. It seems like every hairstyle on the hair thread that I really loved was done by Patricia. Now I'm going to go back through it and check out Beaute Speciale's work -- I've emailed them for info.

Just as an FYI -- I sent a reply to Randy to say that I was the only one who needed my hair done, so I wouldn't be able to use them, and received an auto-generated out-of-office reply that included this:

"We will check our availability for your date and email you if we are able to accommodate you and your bridal party. Please note, we do require a minimum of 6 services for a Friday thru Sunday wedding date and 4 services for a Monday thru Thursday."

So I don't know if this is a new thing, but wanted others to be aware that there are definitely minimums in place.

I got the same reply today and thought it was odd that no one else ever mentioned it.

Are you having a trial done? If you are, then I believe hair and make-up for the trial count towards the 4 services required. 2 services for the trial + 2 services on your wedding day should be enough!

I was going to have a trial, but I'm not having my makeup done, so that's still not enough services for their minimum.

Yeah, that's definitely a new thing, which is why is probably on their auto-response. I was the only one having hair/makeup done and used Patricia. That's a bit disappointing, but maybe her travel costs were just becoming too much to do for a single.

I guess they may lose some business by setting such a high minimum though. I imagine a lot of destination brides may struggle to meet this.

Another fan of Beaute Speciale! Great experience with them and they didn't require a minimum. My wedding planner, who was getting married at the time and used them, recommended Beaute Speciale.

Beaute Speciale is going to my mom's resort just to do her hair (possibly makeup). She has it all arranged. We had already booked lejeune for the wedding party, but my mom is staying at SSR and we are getting ready at Bay Lake Tower (Contemporary). It's too far away to travel back and forth considering our ceremony is at 10am.

That's great to hear. I've emailed them but I haven't heard back yet, but it makes me feel better to know they don't have a minimum. Thank you! :goodvibes

You'll love Ana and her team at Beaute Speciale. They did my hair and makeup on my wedding day and then for my MK shoot - they're fantastic. :thumbsup2

Another vote for Beaute Speciale, all of the girls are great, I just used them for my wedding and loved how my hair and make-up turned out. I also had four girls getting hair and make-up and they loved how it turned out too.
