Is there a guidebook for children available in the UK?

I don't mean a guidebook for adults to read to plan their trip with children, but something that younger members can read themselves to see what there is at Disney so they can be involved in the planning?

An 8-year old I know is going later this year and he will need to be involved in planning the trip and I just want to see if there is a useful resource other than the web to help with that.

Thanks very much

Never come across one and if there aren't any over here then Disney might have missed an opportunity. A book for children covering all the Disney Theme parks and the different lands within Epcot would also be a good educational tool as well, could also include all the other Disney Parks throughout the world. Maybe you've highlighted an opportunity for someone to produce one, if there's not already one out there?

Hi! I don't know if you can order a book from Amazon or e-Bay, but I highly recommend the Birnbaum's Guide to Walt Disney World for Kids. I used it the first time we took our son to WDW in 2011 and got the 2013 issue for our trip this year. It is a wonderful tool that is easy for all age levels of kids to use.
I hope he has a magical vacation.pixiedust:

Thanks - I had looked on Amazon yesterday but obviously hadn't got quite the right search terms in as all that seemed to come up was books aimed at parents taking children, rather than children being involved.

Ordered now.

Thanks

Strictly speaking, not a "kid's" book, but give "The Unofficial Guide: The Color Companion to Walt Disney World" a go. LOTS of colour photo's and less than a tenner over at Amazon.

We bought Guide to the Magic for Kids http://www.guidetothemagic.com/shopping.htm

for Ethan when he was about 7 or 8. In fact I think it was for the trip that's the middle pic of my sig. It was FANTASTIC and he really enjoyed reading it and filling it in

Great minds! I also bought this for DD - twice. Once for her suprise trip in 2010 and she loved it so much I got her another one at her request the next year. She STILL goes through them and makes little notes.

WELL worth the money! Better to have it shipped to the resort though unless you know someone who can bring one back for you (which is what I did the first time per kind favor of some wonderful people). The shipping to the UK is prohibitive!!

Could I ask a huge favour;could you check for me if there is a voucher for the Wild Africa Trek in the back this year please. I had the book last year, I think it's great too, but we don't need another copy unless it has the voucher in. Thanks:goodvibes

Hi! There's no voucher in the back of the book :sad1:

It is a great book though. My eldest won't put it down. He's fully planned our trip in October now ;)

Not sure which book specifically you are looking at but with any of them, there are likely to be changes if Disney makes changes and that is very likely.

However, as the purpose of your book at this stage is focused on planning, it would make sense to get whatever edition is current right now and work from that. There are not likely to be radical changes, but you could find attractions, shows or restuarants, closed, changed or new ones opened.
