Looking into F&W festival next year, just wondering is there a general information thread? Also I read on allears that they have celebrity authors there, can anyone tell me who has been in the past? I'm not a foodie by any means but sure want to be! I know of a few celebrity chefs (mostly from stuff like Top Chef and other shows of that type).

There was a F&W rumor thread started a little while ago:

but the official thread won't be started until next month I believe. There isn't a lot of concrete information available yet

As far as celebrity authors, we went 2 years ago and we saw Andrew Zimmern (from Bizzare Foods) and got his book signed and also attended his demonstration - which was fun

just a note that at least at that time they were handing out tickets for the book signing earlier in the day and then you went back closer to the actual book signing time. If you didn't have a ticket there was a good chance you wouldn't be able to get a book signed (though not sure if they will follow the same policy this year)

Thanks for the info! We still have a long ways but I'm running out of things to research lol, since this will be a first for us I'm diving in. I am honestly more excited for hubby and I to have an adult only trip at the F&W Festival then our summer vacation. Don't tell my kids haha.

I'm right there with you! We are going the end of October (my husband's first trip ever) with my adult daughter and her boyfriend. I have done dozens and dozens of trips when the girls were growing up, so this will be different. No early entry - taking it at a more leisurely pace (so I think at this moment) and am looking forward to sampling some of the F&W festivities.

We went in 2009 and can't wait to go again this year.

As a PP mentioned they handed out tickets on the day of the signing. Getting a ticket meant you would get your book signed, pose for a picture, etc. Anyone else farther back in line may or may not be as lucky.

Book signing sessions were mainly on Fri, Sat and Sundays. I was not familiar with many of the authors, but there were enough I recognized. In 2009 it included Pam Brandon ("Delicious Disney"), Paula Deen's sons, Robert Irvine (Dinner Impossible), and ErinMcKenna (Baby Cakes).

On allears you can find a lot of information on last year's F&W festival. If you click on the "Daily Schedule of Events" you can see what takes place each day.
