Is there a difference between WL courtyard view and woods view?

Hi everyone, I'm still trying to get that standard room at the WL, no luck yet! However, when I called (several hundred times) I was told each time the only rooms availale are the courtyard rooms. I can't afford that at this time, this is a four night stay/getaway and I have my two week vactation back to WDW in August. I've never stayed at the WL and I've read sooooooo much about it here on this wonderful web-site. I read somewhere about woods view is that the same as courtyard view or is that an upgrade from courtyard view? What are the room catergories?

Thanks again in advance :D

We stayed in the courtyard view in December, next time I would rather have the woodsview, it would be more quiet. We were on the 4th floor and you could hear all the noise from the pool. If it were during the summer it would really be annoying.
The courtyard view is the more expensive of the the three, there is standard, woodsview and then the courtyard

The WL is shaped like a "U" with long sides. The bottom 1/3 of the U are the Standard rooms. On the north side they overlook the loading docks looking toward MK. On the south side the Standard rooms look toward the Bus stop and WLV.

The woods view rooms are the upper 2/3 outside of the "U". On the north side they may overlook the otter pond or just the wooded area toward the MK. On the south side they overlook the trees and red roofs of the WLV.

The couryard rooms are the most expensive rooms because they are the inside of the "U" and therefore overlook the river, falls, pool and lake. You also may have a view of the geyser if you are on the south side of the courtyard. From many of the courtyard rooms you can see the Electric Water Parade too.

This might help:

The red roof area is the DVC - Villas at Wilderness Lodge (VWL) - North is to the top of the photo - the woods views on the North Side are really really nice and if you get high enough you can see parts of the MK and some of the fireworks

In order of price (increasing)
Standard then Woods then Courtyard

We stayed in Woods View 2nd floor near the East end of the U close to the boat launch - we had an oblique view of the drainage (otter) pond and loved the room - straight ahead view was 100% woods

Thanks
