Is there a difference between value seasons?

I have been watching the most recent room only discounts for the past week. We are going to WDW in August 2005 and already have a room booked with a AAA discount, but I am hoping to get a room only discount if/when they become available. My questions is this - is there a difference between value season in say January versus August? We will be there 8/24 - 8/28 (value season for deluxe resorts/regular season for moderates). Just wondering if I could expect a similar discount as people are getting with the most recent code (I saw on mousesavers that CR standard garden room was $164, value season) Thanks!

The current room-only code (for Jan-Feb value season) is the same discount as I used back in early September for a deluxe.

However, they are not always the same. The code I used last winter (early Feb.) was about $20 more per night for the AKL/WL than the one being offered now. I think that when they decide on the discounts, they set the prices based on how many rooms they've already booked vs. what they would like to have booked.

So, you can't be sure, but you can probably guess about how much you'll have to spend, and it will probably be better than your AAA discount.

Check mousesavers.com for the historical discounts.

We are thinking of a room only res for 2 nights most likely at the poly for next sept. We have AAA but would like a code too. Should we be booking now to get AAA? Was thinking of waiting til get back from our jan vacation to focus on our disney vacation. Will it be too late?

thanks for replying so quickly. I guess that does make more sense (Disney offering a certain percentage off rack rates depending on how many rooms already booked etc) Although I realize there is never a guarantee on codes being released, I am hopeful. Last time we went (11/2002) we payed less for a room at WL than we have currently booked at POR, so I'm really hoping for a better discount!!

I can't answer about the availability of rooms w/AAA discount, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be a problem waiting until January for a September date. Maybe someone else more knowledgable can help out with that one. I just figured since the AAA rates were released I would book the resort of our choice at a price I could live with (not terribly thrilled with, but can live with;) ) and if codes are released I can apply them to my existing reservation or if they are really good, possibly upgrade to a deluxe resort (keeping my fingers crossed!!)
