Is there a crowd level difference between mid Sept. and early Oct?

We usually book our trips for mid September, but this year were hoping to maybe go in October and was wondering if the parks still have low volumes during this time. Last year DH recieved a PIN for free dining in October and we were hoping maybe to get something like this again.
