Is there a charge if you get ice water with your meal?

I know if I get a dasani I'm going to be paying for it, obviously, but every time we've gone we were huge soda drinkers. We've cut back to almost nothing and I don't like Dasani. Is there a cup charge for ice water at counter services?

No charge. But increasingly you get a cup of ice and have to fill it from a fountain. This has happened to me at Edelweiss, Troubadour Tavern, Village Haus and Tomorrowland Terrace/Galactic Grill.

Ok. So locate a drinking fountain first. LOL!

My kids will be getting ice waters too, this could take a while. I'm imagining the looks we'd be getting from those behind us in line. Yikes.

They're small cups, it doesn't take that long to fill them.

You won't really stand out. We're a water drinking only family and I've never felt awkward. They will also direct you to where the fountain is at the places that don't fill the cups with water

Ok good, so we're not going to have the huge cups to fill. That's actually a relief.

Whew ok. I won't obsessively search them out then LOL

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

If you go in the warmer months they may even have cups of ice water sitting out at the food counters when you go to order. There are also several places with water spickets (one at Ranch De Zocalo comes to mind). These are nicer than a typical water fountain and are good for filling your personal water jug. It's nice to get ice from the counter service, dump it in your water bottle, and then fill up the bottle with water from one of those spickets.

We did this a lot last trip. Packed some MIO in a ziplock and saved about $20 a meal with a family of 7!

Good to know. I haven't noticed those!

Yeah we'll have 5 and I realized that while I may get ONE soda a day, (likely my 'snack') I do not want to pay for one for every meal. That adds up FAST.

You can get water with ice free at both TS & CS restaurant. We did that for the whole trip even at Café Orleans for those without the Mint Julep.
At Plaza Inn, you get it from the soda fountain and tell the cashier that it's water.

I've developed the habit of always asking for a courtesy cup of water whenever I buy anything to eat or drink. It helps keep me hydrated, which helps me to keep going throughout the day/night. Usually, they give me a very small cup. Smokejumpers Grill gave me a large cup.

I found on my last trip if I asked for a medium/large glass of ice, they were more than happy to give me one. If you don't ask, you'll most likely get kids cup size.

Whenever we go into Starbucks in the park, I order a couple of ice waters. Best place to get free cold water in the parks.

If you are bringing a backpack anyways, another option is to bring along a water bottle and refill as needed. We bring well insulated water bottles with loads of ice and refill at the filtered water stations throughout the day :)
