Is there a charge for trundle bed at POR?

I am confused about the trundle at POR. When I made my reservation last week the lady said that when I requested a trundle bed, they will automatically give you one since you have 5 people on your reservation.

I called today to put down my deposit. Confirmed that a trundle was noted. They said "no", but I will add that to your requests. There will be a $15/night charge."

I called back later tonight to see what my total would be. When I do the math, it doesn't look like they added the $15/night to the reservation. Do they charge you at check-in? IS there even a charge?

Thanks. Trying not to make my almost 3 yr old squeeze into a pack n play, but can't really afford the $15/night for 5 nights either. TIA for any info.

We haven't stayed there in several years, but both times we did they charged us for a trundle bed (we have 5 in our family also). I'm not sure but I think that some/most of the rooms in the Alligator Bayou already have the trundle bed in them. Other posters may have more up-to-date info.

Hi, I stayed at POR last week. They automatically charged us the 15.00 a night for the trundle bed. AP rates were 85.00 per night and when I made the reservation the cm said the rate would be 99.00 per night. We also had 5 in our party. Hope that helps!

We stayed there last Dec. It was me and all 4 of my sons. The baby was 18 months at the time and I was asked if I needed a crib and I said no, he will just sleep with me. No way would he have slept in the crib but since I was also going to have my 3 yr old sleeping with me they gave us a trundle room at no extra charge.

My understanding is that the extra charge of $15 is actually for that 5th person (over the age of 3)....so if you have 5 people over the age of 3, they will automatically place you in an AB room with a trundle and charge you the extra $15. I've heard of families of 4 who were placed in AB rooms with trundles, but were not charged the extra $15....even if they use it during their stay.

Yeah, the charge is for the 5th person over 3, not the trundle. If a party of fewer than 5 gets a trundle room, they get to use it for free. In other words, you'll owe the extra $15.

She said her youngest was not yet 3 so she shouldnt be charged for it.

We stayed at POR in April, with 5 people, youngest was 2, and no charge for a trundle. Good luck and have fun!

Oops -- I didn't read carefully enough. If you only have four people over three, you should not be charged for a trundle. If you are, insist that it be taken off.

BTW, the charge is part of the room fee. If you were being charged the $15, it should have been reflected in your deposit.

THank you all very much. My daughter won't be 3 until 2 months after our trip. It doesn't seem to be added into our totals. I will verify when I check in that they don't charge me.

The one thing to remember is that the trundle room is only a request, and with only 4 people in your party over age 3, you might get assigned a room in the Mansions section. If you truly want the trundle bed (ie guarantee it) you will have to pay the $15 per night charge.
