Hi everybody !

I usually post in the wedding section, but I have a question about dining.

I was so busy organising the wedding that I completely forgot about dining reservations. I remember today about that and called the dining reservation number. And the big disappointment : there is no more table available for the Crystal Palace, at any time, during our whole stay.:sad2:

I was so disappointed, I am a so huge fan of Winnie the pooh and cie :sad1::sad1::sad1: That's completely my fault, I should have to remember earlier that WDW restaurants are very busy.

The woman on the phone told me I should try to go there and see if there are no shows. Do you think I have any chance to get a table ? Have you already done that ?

Thank you :flower3:

I'm so sorry you weren't able to get an ADR. But I would suggest that you keep trying online every day. We were not going to Disney this year and ended up going for a mini trip September 18-22. I booked the trip July 30 and on July 31, I started looking up ADR's. I too am a big Pooh fan and love CP's breakfast (puffed french toast :worship: ) and I figured I'd have no luck. The first day, I couldn't find anything for breakfast; the second day lunch popped up so I took it. Four days later, I was able to get an 8:05 a.m. ADR for Crystal Palace on our first full day there. So keep checking...it does happen.

And congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

If you can call a few different times each day. People are always canceling trips and changing reservations. If you can't get one before you get there check with Guest Services upon check in. Still can't get one check with Guest services when you enter the park. It can't hurt to keep trying.

Good luck and best wishes on your wedding! :)

Thank you so much for your so quick answer !
I am going to follow your advise and call/check online every day. If it doesn't work I would try on site.

In the meantime I also discovered the thread about December cancellation and will try to follow it.

Hope is back:banana:

I agree keep trying

In addition the 1900 breakfast "Mary Poppins and friends" had Pooh and Tigger there when we went in late September

I hope you get an ADR!

Dont give up! I was looking for an 'Ohana reservation for months! I was finally able to snag one just days before the trip! If that doesn't work, call from your room or check with the concierge desk at your resort. :thumbsup2

Good luck and congrats on the wedding!

If all else fails you can try showing up and hope for the best. When we were there in August we had a 6:15 reservation and arrived at 6:00PM. A couple of families were walking up at that time and were able to get a walk-in.

Just have a backup plan in case you don't have any luck.

I booked a "last minute vacation" in WDW this week. I will be down for 11 nights and 12 days. Due to the last min. thing I am not even going to try with the ADR'S. Having been there many times and struggling with online or WDW-Dine it is just not worth it. Obsessing with the dining plan is hard enough AHEAD of time so I am simply going to call the morning I decide where I want to eat and try. Then if that fails I am going to walk up at slower times...say laate lunch or early dinner and just see. I will not starve its disneyworld and a sandwich, soup etc. will suffice. I hope this helps you ..:santa::santa::santa: believe me I am a planner by nature but this time nope go with the flow!!!

I think if you were to show up at less busy times you may get in.

We were there last week and when LeCellier openned, they took a few walkins. Actually my daughter was reading the menu and a man asked the CM about a table and the CM said yes he could get them in....to our surprise the guy said he had to wait to ask his wife, we think the next person got that table, while guy no. 1 was asking his wife. But on another side, we ate breakfast at the Cap. Grill (which is normally a slow, easy to get into place) and they were turning folks away at 8:45AM if they didn't have an ADR, but offered them a 40 minute wait time. You just never know. Personally I would book a backup ADR and I would never go to WDW without some ADRs. Dining out is part of the excitment of the trip. We have gone the first 2 weekends of December several times and find it extemely crowded. One year we were at the studios and they reached capacity. I'm not looking forward to those crowds again as we'll be the the first two weekends of December again this year, with the cruise in the middle. Normally, our regular visiting times are late January, late April/early May, and late October. We never deal with big crowds during those timeframes. I have noticed that the resorts are booked up the first 2 weekends of December, with Pop warner somewhere in the mix. I'm excited about the cruise, but not about the December crowds.

I never book ADRs ahead of time. When we arrive, I call the dining number and tell them what restaurants I want and they tell me when they have available ADRs. If you can be flexible, you can eat anywhere you want. Congratulations! :goodvibes

We have just called while we were there and got in at the Crystal Palace. It is totally doable with all the people that change things around. We had to call a couple of times this time around to get all of ours... Chef Mickey was the hardest. I hope you can get one!!! Just don't give up.

Thank you everybody for sharing your experience.
Today I managed to get a Tokyo dining reservation.
There are still no availability for Crystal Palace, but I keep hoping...

Thank you mousefan for the proposal, but I will be back home on december the 17th :sad2:

Keep checking. Things open up all the time.

If you do not get it try your concierge after you check in.

Explain the situation (I'm making the assumption this is a honeymoon) and see what they can do. In a special situation like this it is not unheard of for them to pull some strings and since it is a buffet it is not that hard to fit in 1 extra table.

I did see an extremely rude lady who had no ADRs at all get an ADR for this place after yelling at the concierge at the CSR. If he can do it for someone like that he may be able to do it for someone who is nice to them.

Good luck.

I'd hate to see any honeymoon wish go unfulfilled . . . PM me if you haven't already found a reservation. I may be able to help you out. I have reservations on 11/30 and 12/5.

I just want to tell you that we wanted Crystal Palace during the Easter week - no reservation. When we checked into our resort we asked what availability they had for any meal, any time of day. First day, nothing. Second day, they offered us several options. It is DD's favorite restaurant so after our meal we went and tried our luck again and were again given several options for meals (lunch and dinner) so we picked what suited us best.

All I am saying is even if you leave for your trip and don't have one yet, anything is possible. People are hot on the website to make their ressies but as you will see from so many posts on the Dining Plan Board, after some time, it becomes tiresome being a slave to ADRs and people do cancel.

As an aside, wasn't that SO SWEET of mousefan 1972?!

Well first of all, you should call again every so often in case there are cancellations.

As for any chance? Absolutely! ( I don't know how many seats you need though ). DW and I were down during October, the park was very busy, we figured there were just two of us, so we didn't really book ANY ADR's. Anyway, we walked up to the Crystal Palace and were told poiltely, but firmly that there were no seats, the place was all booked up....

So we were sitting outside discussing our next move when the CM came outside and asked us if "we wanted to eat" and showed us to a free table. :lovestruc
