Is there a certain day of the week that SW flights go down?

We are going to WDW Ap 4-11, 2015. We booked the down flights when they opened and have been waiting for the return flight to open. When they did last week they are really high. Is there usually a day of the week that they go down? We need flights from Orlando to Akron-Canton.

You should book now. That is a peak travel weekend between MCO and the Cleveland area. If fairs go down, you can receive a credit from SW. They likely will not decrease, though.

Agreed. I fly from CLE/ CAK TO MCO multiple times a year and I would not wait. Book ASAP and if you see a price drop get the SW credit.

I would book now. I'm going in February and booked in October. I booked using points, one of the flights keeps going down in price. Every time I see a drop, I call and they credit my rapid rewards account. So far, I've calked 2-3 times, and I will keep checking through January. They are very friendly about it, too.

Tues is the day they publish their specials. But doubt you will find anything because April 11 is part of the Easter blackout date.

Also look to flying into Tampa it is often cheaper to fly from Cle or CAK to TPA. Only takes an extra 40 minutes to drive from TPA than it does from MCO.

You could fly TPA to Columbus on the 11th for $196 pp

Keep checking. I stalk SW daily as we had also booked flights from Louisville, KY to Orlando, 2 tickets were $136, the 3rd was $156. The flight back was running well into the $270s. On a random Saturday night a few weeks back, the only direct flight dropped from $273 to $87. I jumped on those tickets as fast as I could type.

I agree with stalking SW. Not only do fares change from day to day, fares can also change throughout a given day.

I keep stalking them as well. It can really save you some money or maximize your points. One note though, you don't have to call SW to adjust. Just go to My Account at the top right corner of their homepage and login and then on your upcoming trips you can see each leg of a trip and can change a reservation there. You can even choose to rebook the same flight to get a lower rate when it drops.

We travel from Buffalo to MCO and have found that booking the fares on their release date or soon after turns out to be the cheapest option. We did have odd luck of fares going down two weeks before we traveled, so we were able to get a $70 credit. But otherwise, fares were up. I'd also book now and get credit if it should go down.

I guess Tuesday is the usual answer, but you have to watch for other sales and they may respond if another airline they're in competition with does something on a different day.

About a month ago, on a Sunday I saw a one way from MCO to PHL for a return trip drop from $129 to $60. Not sure what the sale was, but it was there just one day so I snagged it. Didn't have that luck getting down there, but about a week ago I found a time/fare that worked so I booked that.
