Is there a budget Sulphate-free shampoo?

I like the Whole Foods brand shampoo and conditioner and it is not very expensive at all. I used to use the conditioner only to do a Wen-style no-poo wash. I've been trying Nioxin's line of products (specifically the scalp recovery line). I like it and noticed some hair thickening (I also am hypothyroid). I'm going to give it another month before I decide. I'm not sure if the Nioxin is sulfate-free. But I know some people were discussing thinning hair, too.

I missed this post earlier - probably because I was crying over my thinning hair. :sad1: I'll have to look into the Nioxin, too. :thumbsup2

DH tried Nioxin and it actually made his hair thinner, he read some reviews on it and quit using it.

the lady at our local Sally's said that they have had several people say their "Wen" version is equally as good, but I haven't tried it personally. I have been using the Loreal "Body" formula sh. and cond. with very good results....I tried the method of using baking soda only to wash, but my tangly hair needed conditioner and then I ended up looking greasy after a few tries.

Some people experience 'thinning' when they first start on Nioxin. What it is, is that Nioxin gets rid of all the old hair that you would of lost. After a couple weeks you should notice a difference, and start to feel your hair thickening.

I think Loreal might make one.

Bumping this as I just tried the Loreal Sulfate free shampoo. It was on sale last week & I had a coupon for it.

This is my review. I tried the "hydrating" formula. I didn't change anything else, like length of time it was on, or change my conditioner, as I really wanted to find out what this shampoo does.

When I first used it yesterday, it didn't seem to rinse out well. My hair was actually stiff and still seemed kind of dull & the ends frizzy.

But, after sleeping on it overnite, my hair is really full and fluffy. Lots of body. :thumbsup2 It also has a nice shine to it. So, I guess it did rinse out well. It's actually very soft and does seem more hydrated than usual.

I am quite impressed. The ends are still a touch frizzy, but I might use an extra dab of hair conditioner on the end. Or when there is another sale, get the matching conditioner or leave in treatment that goes with this line of products.

I actually wish I had tried the shampoo earlier in the week. I would have gone back during the sale for the other items as I have coupons for those too.
