Is there a boat from MGM to Epcot at closing time for MGM?

When we go in Dec, one night we're going to try to make Fantasmic...its at 7, so park close is at 7, we leave right after the show. Originally I was thinking of trying to take in MVMCP, but I don't think my DDs will be up for that by the time we get there. So, now I was thinking well, Epcot is open 2 hrs past MGM closing time. Maybe we could head over and see Nemo or do Soarin (if its open) or just walk thru some of the shops even as people line up for Illuminations, then take the monorail back to GF. Has anyone done this? Is it possible to take a boat to Epcot at closing time of MGM?

You would need to take the boat from MGM to one of the Epcot resorts (eg Dolphin) and then take another boat to Epcot. However, there will be a lot of people leaving the park at that time and you could wait ages for a boat. The better way may be to walk from MGM to the Dolphin (15 mins) and then catch a boat from the Dolphin to Epcot - or even walk through International Gateway (another 15 mins) if you have the stamina!

You can take a boat from MGM to the international entrance of Epcot you don't need to transfer at a hotel. It is a nice about 15 minute ride. When we were there MGM closed at 8:30 and the Captain said the boats last trip would be at 9:30. So I would guess they run about 1 hr after closing, I'm sure someone here will know for sure.

The boats will run to and from (last boat is from) Epcot's IG until one hour after Epcot closes.

To be clear, the boat trip from MGM's dock all the way to Epcot's International Gateway dock takes almost exactly 30 minutes.

I have ridden and timed this trip dozens of times (both directions) and that is the regulated speed of the boats (including the 3 interim stops at the resorts).

And yes, on several occasions during the time of year when it gets dark earlier in the evening, we have watched Fantasmic! at 7pm, then taken the boat to Epcot and sen IllumiNations on the same night.

We have also walked between the two parks for the same reasons.
The walk (normal "Disney pace") and the boat (once you have boarded it) take about the same amount of time to make the trip.
