Is there a benefit to buying Universal tickets before I go?

We are headed to Universal next week. i plan to buy one annual pass (to get the room discount) and 2 day/get 2 free for the rest of the family. Is there any reason I should go ahead and buy tickets online now vs buying at hotel or park gate when we get there?

Multi-day tickets are cheaper online...either at official site or at other sites like Undercover Tourist.

Plus, you can upgrade those tickets to APs.

That's true! We have been shocked how long the lines were a few mornings over the years..........
