I'm sure my specific question has been discussed before but my board searches haven't yielded any good hits.
Here's the sequence of events:
1) With an Aug. UY, we made reservations for Jan. 09 at our 11-month window, using 162 of 250 points in our 2008 UY. 88 points left for the year.
2) We recently made reservations for an Aug. 08 trip, which uses another 83 points. 5 points left for the year.
3) Then we waitlisted for our Aug. 08 trip to try a different resort. If it comes through, it will require up to 12 more points, which would kick in (I assume) automatic borrowing of up to 7 points from 2009.
So what happens if the Aug. 08 waitlist comes through but then later we modify our Jan. 09 reservation so it uses, say, only 135 points instead of 162? I'm assuming that the 7 points borrowed from 2009 are not automatically returned to that UY. But will we at least be able to bank the 27 2008 UY points into 2009?
Thanks for the help!
