We just started talking about which resort to stay! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
Looking for others who are gonna be obsessing about planning and codes ;)

We are planning a trip for May 2011 and also trying to decide where to stay!!
There will be myself, DH, our 2 boys (will be 6 and 3) and my parents.

I am trying to decide between POR and POP. Would like to save some money and go for the value, but thinking the extra amenities (fridge that we would rent anyways, hot tub, boat to DD, landscaping etc etc.) might be worth the extra cost.

I am planning to book in Aug. when the new pricing is released, but doing all of the background reading/planning and getting excited!!

I'm in!!! We're planning for April 2011 (probably 4/7-4/17) and I'm already "too excited to sleep!"
:cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:
We went every year from when my DS17 was little - from 1997-2004. We took off 2005 when DH and I got married :lovestruc, then went back again in 2006, but haven't been back since.
We'd been saving to move into our new house, followed by two years of fertility treatments, and then my DD1 was born at 25 weeks weighing 1 lb 2 oz in February 2009. princess: She'll be 2 yrs old for our April trip, and I can't wait to bring her to my happy place for the first time!
:wizard:
We're planning on staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge...and I already have most (if not ALL) of our meals planned! I'm a little Disney crazed!
:rolleyes1
I was going to start a PTR, but I figured I'd wait til 6 months out when I start the ADRs. Til then, I guess I'll feed my "hunger" by reading other people's Trip Reports!
popcorn::

I know it is just under a year out, but we will be going next April. My oldest will be in second grade (DS7), so we have to time it with the spring break. I am ready to go now, but keeping up to date on this site does help. :goodvibes

We're going in March (4-12), but I didn't get much response when I asked about other March 2011 planners, so I thought I'd barge into this April thread. :lmao:

We took the kids for the first time in May 09 and I didn't think anything would be as exciting as that trip and watching them experience it for the first time. But now that they've been (and are well on their way to being Disney nuts - my job as a mother is done!) and we know how much fun we all had together, I think I'm anticipating this trip even more! DS just said to me this morning, "I wish we lived closer to Disney World!" Me too! :)

We're going (me, DH, DS and DD) with my mom and neither she or my husband are planners - I'm so glad I have this site to talk and obsess on because they both just keep telling me it's too early for them to get excited. I don't even understand that concept...

YAY!! I think planning is half the fun of the whole Disney experience! There is no such thing as too much!

We are going back and forth with Feb still. Ugh... DH wants Feb. I kinda get it with Easter being late in April though. But the weather seems so much nicer in April. We have a couple months to hash it out I guess. I was going to wait til deals came out in November...ish. But i see myself booking the minutes rates come out for 2011 LOL

Yeah, Easter being so late next year threw us off of our original plans too - we were planning on early May again, but not with Easter being so late in April. Thought about Feb. too, but we use a portion of our tax refund for vacations, so I have to make sure we have it back first, ha ha!

I want to book now so badly, but am holding off until fall, hoping for a good deal - last trip we got the buy 4, get 3 free deal and it was awesome. I'd love to get another similar deal!

And yes, I feel so happy just even starting to think of planning!!

I am trying to do this around scool vacations. i dont mind the kids missing a few days, but want to not worry about missing school either. There is one at end of April and one at end of Feb. We thought April cause of tax refund too lol. The crowds scare me a bit with Easter though.
we got that buy 4 get 3 deal with a $200 gift card last year. That was pretty sweet! Hoping for that as well!

I'm in!! We are at Pop Century (with probably one night in one of the Universal hotels somewhere in the middle) April 9th to 23rd. I actually booked it last December as soon as the prices came out over here and those dates through Virgin holidays sold out within a month, so DH has had to stop grumbling about me booking so early!

I already have our TS meals mentally planned, just not what actual days as I'll need the EMH days for that. We normally plan on 7 TS meals for a 14 day holiday as we just feel too stuffed otherwise, but I was up to 8 and then DH asked that I add 50s PT to the list yesterday, so we may end up making ressies for them all and then cancelling a couple if we're not up to eating.

I want to book Ohana dinner, Coral Reef, Yak and Yeti, Le Cellier, 50s PT, Sanaa and House of Blues onsite and Hard Rock Cafe and Bahama Breeze offsite. We normally do a show (have done La Nouba x 2 and Blue Man Group before) so that will probably be HDDR (which has food as an added bonus!) although I've heard good things about the magic show dinner thing at Wonderworks and also the Sleuths dinner show, so that may change.

We also want a day at Clearwater with a dolphin watching boat trip, a day at Busch and maybe one other excursion.

It's pretty sad that my planning is in full flow already, but honestly I enjoy the planning as much as the trip!

Have been to check where you all are - only place I was confident about was Michigan as a friend of mine is from there. Was in the right area for NH and Conn but had no clue about Ohio - sorry! Really must do my homework on where all the states are....

Oh, the planning is absolutely half the fun for me! My husband SO does not get that!

The dolphin watching tour sounds so awesome!!

And heck, I live in the US and I'm horrible with some of the states...those southwestern ones just become a big blur to me. :rolleyes1

Count us in for April 2011!!! Just got back from our trip April 16-24...school vacation week and it was AWESOME!!!!! Freaking out a bit though that Easter is at the end of our school vaca for 2011. Feb seems too cold...so we may tough it out and go April 15-22nd. Leaving on Good Friday and miss the actual insane crowds of Easter weekend. Any thoughts?

We've been twice in February (over Presidents' Day both times) and twice at Easter. Easter is busy, but the weather is nicer (although we got one really cold windy day last year and there was one morning we were at Typhoon Lagoon that I could have done with being warmer, but we had fun anyway). Honestly, for a Brit, anything over 70 is a bonus LOL.

We always seem to end up leaving the Easter weekend and it does get appreciably busier towards Easter itself. We get there for rope drop, use fastpasses and use EMHs where it makes sense for us. So we did end up in MK for 7am Good Friday 2009, but by about 11am it was time to bail out - it was insane! The sun wasn't even up when we arrived in MK! Luckily the tickets sold in the UK have hoppers as standard, so we can bounce around the parks as it suits us.

Last time over I bought Ridemax too. We actually only really used it for one day, as the other days it pretty much told me to do what I would have done anyway. The day we used it was our main MK day, and I was like :confused3 at some of the things it told us to do but it worked and we ended up ahead of schedule, so we slotted in a couple of extra rides over what I'd plugged into it. I was pretty impressed actually, as I consider myself pretty experienced at planning Disney route marches (we are definitely commando park tourers!), but the Ridemax one was really very good.

DH was laughing at the amount of prep I put into our trip a couple of times ago, but a couple of days in he turned to me and said he could now see why I was making us all get up for rope drop every day, and since then DD and he just assume that mum will make the plan and everyone will follow it! They do get input though - DD wants Coral Reef, Ohana and Hard Rock Cafe and DH wants 50s Prime Time Cafe, so they will get scheduled in.

Still obsessively reading everything - thinking we will need to try Outback Steakhouse as DD loves her steak and its a bit of a luxury item over here, so she eats it at every opportunity in the US.

Anyone else braving Easter 2011....school vacation week?? Is February really cold?? We could go either, just love the weather in April and the Flower Garden show. Come on all you 2011 planners:banana:

We are hoping for May 7-14 2011. All the state testing is finished by then for my DS(will be in 4th grade). I am planning that week because it is 2 weeks after Easter & a few weeks before Summer vacation guests. Maybe we will catch a break with lower crowds. We are including Universal to visit Harry Potter.

AAAH that lovely early May time :( we did that from 1997 to 2009, can't do it anymore. Our oldest is in Middle school and he can't handle the anxiety of missing a weeks worth of school. We are now down to Feb vaca, April vaca or August. We just went this past April so I definitely cannot wait until August 2012. So its April 2011 or Feb 2011....leaning towards the warmer weather of April:cool1:

My parents have an odd-year only offsite timeshare. This year it falls Apr 30- May 7. We want to add to nights a AKL. We booked there Apr 28-May9 since we can't decide if we are adding before, after, or possibly both. Since Easter is the Monday before, we know we may get better deals after, though Touring Plans is saying by midweek after Easter, everyone will have cleared out. It's such a weird year for schools with Easter being so close to May testing dates.

But yes, We're booked for late April/early may and I am already shopping!!!!

I like to buy the kids Disney attire to wear, and last year since I waited until the winter, though I found things cheap, I couldn't find much. Now I am buying spring clearance stuff. Good thing my kids are true to size...

Once I get the itch...

Anyone making stuff already? I started an autograph book, a planning book, and some letters to DS. We joined the Disney DVD Club so he can get familiar with characters (He doesn't watch much TV other than Dinosaur Train on PBS so we are starting Disney Movie Night)

Anyone planning a "We're Going to Disney" Surprise Morning the day of departure?

Since he'll be nearly 4 (and he's already nearly 3 going on 13) we think it will be exciting for him. He was barely 2 on our last trip and still talks about the Monorail.

I'm so excited I'm rambling. Glad to have found you guys!
Autumn

We will be there in April 2011. My DDs dance studio is performing there on April 26 and then we will stay the week. I am nervous about being there Easter week though because I have heard how busy it is.

We are driving down from NH (first time driving) and we plan to stay out of the parks on Easter itself.

We are:dance3:

Everything is up in the air right now- dates, resort, drive/fly...

I'm hopping to get a flight out as soon as school closes on April 15 and return on April 26.
