Is there a April 2008 code watch thread? **This seems to be it!!

EricMat, I was watching the Barrie news a couple of nights ago and they were promoting a piece that's running tomorrow at 6pm. (on 219 if you have Expressvu) It's a segment where one of their reporters is at DW and they said tune in on Monday for a special deal. Who knows...could be just nothing, but I've got it on the timer and I'll let you everyone here know if it turns into something! Maybe it will be a new cdn offer.

I have been watching closely too for April (9th-16th) and have to say, I am getting pretty concerned that there isn't going to be a code. If all the reports are true about everything being booked or close to booked up, I can't say I blame Disney, but as a visitor, I will be most unhappy if this is the first time in several years where there isn't a code to at least upgrade to PHs.

I got a postcard in the mail with a pin code good for 3/30 to 5/21 for 5 nights 6 days at a value for $512/adult double occupancy with free upgrade to PH and waterpark option. I haven't called to check any more details, because I'm not sure if we could make this work, but it is out there.

I have a theory, bear with me...if all of us are booking our rooms in advance to then apply a code then maybe Disney does not feel they need to issue a code because all the rooms are taken up at full rack rate? Its just a thought but you never know? I too have been waiting for a AP or FL rate for 4-5 to
4-13 and yes already have my room booked. If a large amount of people are doing the same thing then they really must think it is a busy time and no need for the discounts????????

There are alot of us that having been saying this for years. Unless a peson plans to stay at that resort regardless of a discount or not, booking in advance only hurts yourself. Flexibility is the key to getting a discount. Having a backup plan, especially another resort you might be ready to move to, is also a big plus too.

I think your right! I think alot of people make ressie's that they end not using because they do not get a discount. Then there a bunch of rooms sitting there last minute with no one in them. It is a vicous cycle and I am no better right now. I am a FL resident and AP and will not pay rack rate. If we do not get a discount then we will end up staying less days and/or offsite. Maybe we will try to get a value room at rack rate, but I will not pay $165 to $175for a MOD when typically we get it for around $100 plus tax. Maybe we should all just quit making the reservations and then WDW would be forced into putting a discount out. We have never been fortunate enough to get one of the 40% off pin codes but if I ever do I will use it to stay at the Poly or GF. Good Luck everyone, here's hoping to that Wednesday code!

My take on it is this.... I am coming all the way from Maine. I HAD to book flights about 4 months ago to get a decent deal in April. I also book my rooms. I am not picky about the rooms really, but did not want to stay at the Value resorts either. But if I waited, what do you do? Hope they have rooms? POFQ and POR are booked for my stay. Go off site? I don't want to rent a car. SO it is hard to wait when I have a very specific time frame in which I must travel because I had to book those flights.

It is a tough one.

I agree I know I want to stay at Pop really not interested in a room upgrade but want that ticket upgrade So I also have to get a flight from up north and have tolook 6 months out so I book early . I got a code for tickets in Feb and was so excited . But my friendswould love any code!!

I don't think they're booked up, at least not when we're going (4th-13th). I called last week to check if we had a code under our name and checked a few prices just to see what was out there. A snippy CM told me there were no rooms available at CBR for a room only reservation, but she would sell me a magic your way package at CBR (with tickets) for the same dates. That really doesn't do me any good since we have annual passes. I checked the website and room are still available at CBR, All Star Music, Sports, and Pop. Not sure about the Deluxes.

Just saw on intercot webite codes that apply to April. It is only for Disney visa holders at this point. It is the ticket upgrade park hopper with water park. for the dates of March 30-May 21st. The codes are posted on that website That will save us 300.00 extra!!!! something is better than nothing!!!! It also said they had felt it will be the same public code by the end of this week.

Do tell me more...I'll take whatever I can get at this point. For DH & I that would give us a refund of $90.00 since we've already puchased the park hopper tickets for 8 days. Every little bit helps. We weren't planing on doing Disney Quest or the Waterparks but that would be a nice added option too.

Generally the VISA discounts come out a few days prior to FL Res and AP rates, so this is a good sign. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Wednesday.
