looking for a short stay for our 10yr anniversary! (w/o the kiddies! OH MY!!)

Im trying to plan a surprise disney trip for my husband. Our anniversary is in april and was thinking of going then and surprising him at xmas witht the trip. He really wants to go for the halloween thing in octobeer and I would love to see disney at xmas. We were in disney the end of april beginning of may in 06 for our honeymoon. Any ideas of what would be the best time to go would be great.

Halloween is one of the best times to go to WDW. On the Theme Park BB check out the Halloween Party threads. It is the best party WDW throws all year. SOOO much fun. And if you time it right Food & Wine is also happening. I would say go for Halloween. Save and give him the trip on your Anniv (its when he wants to go isn't it? You won't be sorry)

We've been to the MNSSHalloween Party twice and I can tell you, it is Heaven on Earth for me! My two teen daughters think it is just as awesome as I do. My husband also enjoys dressing up. I think it's the most magical time that I've ever been there, and the crowds are not bad.

I've never been down at Christmas time because I don't want to waste my money when it's crowded. I also don't enjoy taking a trip to Florida if I have to wear pants and a jacket. Some day I do want to go to enjoy Disney during the Christmas season, and since my birthday is sometimes on Thanksgiving Day, I keep hinting to my husband that it would be an awesome Birthday present, but we do Thanksgiving every year and he enjoys making his smoked and fried turkeys (I make the one in the oven)....

But I think you should go with the Halloween Party. Then for your next anniversary, try the Christmas Party. You should post a poll on the Theme Park thread, which is better, Christmas Party or Halloween Party?
and read the responses.
Have fun whenever you go!

I vote for October! we loved it the very end of the month we went it was awesome!

Are most of you planning on April because that is your kids spring breaks? If so what are the dates of spring breaks for most of you? I would think that would make the crowds a little heavier, what are your thoughts?

We are planning to go 4/8 - 4/13 because we are attending with our DD's high school band, who will be performing at Magic Kingdom during the evening parade. Our kids' spring break is actually 3/31 - 4/4.

But that's a good question. I think I will post a poll.

We are planning to go from April 10th or 11th until April 20th , but we will be going to Tampa for a few days to visit with a relative first. The schools here are closed Monday April 14th through Friday April 18th.
Still waiting for JetBlue's April airfare!!!

I am planning on April because my kids Spring Break is March 29-April 6 (we live in the western suburbs of Chicago.
I have never been during this time of year either.

We are planning on leaving NY (we are driving!!) on April 16th and taking the kids out of school fo 2 days, our spring break is April 21-25, we will start our return drive back on April 26. From what I have been reading, not too many schools have off this week. Any one hear anything different?

Our spring break is the week of 4/21, but since my son is in kindergarten, I'm thinking of taking him out for a week earlier in the month, probably around the 2nd-8th. The flights from boston or manchester nh are almost double during the spring break week.

April spring break seems to be an east coast thing. Ours is the 3rd week in March and has nothing to do with when Easter falls, all of Iowa is sometime in March.

The kids have 1.5 days off at the end of April, and that is a great time for DH to take off work, so that's when we are going.

My friend and I are polanning to go March 28th-April 4th! Doesnt seem to be a BIG spring break week! All well if it is we will have a blast at disney no matter if we stand in line or not! Im so excited!

We are planning the last week of April (20-26) because that is my kids spring break. We went this April, same week and the crowds weren't too bad, but I also did follow Tour Guide Mikes advice on his days, and plan to do the same this year.

We are thinking of going April 5-13, which is NOT our spring break. We just figured it was more then week after Easter, and most of the April breaks seem later in the month. This was confirmed by it being a Wonderful Week of Disney. However, based on some responses to a thread I posted a few weeks ago saying the crowds will still be high, we are semi-considering the beginning of February instead. Our kids like to swim and I figure April would be better for that. Still, if the lines for the rides are a lot shorter, that will make for a much happier 7 and 4 year old!

We're planning on April 5 through April 12 which is DD12's Spring Break.

Do you really think there will be a discount for April 2008? I thought there wasn't one for April 2007 and that, in 2006, it was only for AP holders and FL residents. I sure hope I'm wrong!

I dont know anything about codes I have always stayed off property. But we booked through Small World Vacations and I am not gonna look foward to a code that way I dont get disappointed! But we can hope!! We are booked for POP March 28-April 2! I am so EXCITED!

We're going April 12-16 and the week of April 14-18 is when my kids are off school (we're in Western NY).

We went over our kids April break in 2005, in early May in 2006, and in July 2007 - I don't really notice a huge difference in crowds between any of these trips. But, we always get to the parks at opening, use Extra Magic morning hours and FastPass and we've always done really well despite crowd levels.
