Is the walk from Candy Cane Inn convenient?

Man are there lots of choices in the Disneyland area. Just when I figured it out I go and read more reviews or look at more pictures and change my mind on our stay.

Candy Cane Inn looks cute and looks like it would fit our taste but it is a motel with small rooms..

Is the walk from CC easy, quick, not much different than Desert INN-Camelot etc? I have been to DL once before and remember parking in the lot where carsland is now and I recall wanting to catch the shuttle. We will have 3 kiddos and a stroller in tow.

I was set on Park Vue Inn and then Tropicana but then I would read reviews that made me not so sure. So then I had my eye on Doubletree which looks super nice but there is the whole shuttle thing.
They are all around the same$. Yet their reviews are so far apart.

Any help?

The Candy Cane is about an 8 min walk if you walk quickly (my kids do.) Also note, they have their own shuttle. It runs from the Inn to the park on the hour and the half hour. It circles the parking lot once to pick up stragglers. It leave the park at the 15 and 45. You know if you arrive at the bus area at 1250, you will have a wait before the bus is back, and you know if you get there at 1240, the bus is either there waiting or it will be in a minute. VERY convenient.

It isn't as close as those. We walked it once, but it is a bit far for that. The good news is that they have their own dedicated shuttle--which is on time and very easy to use.

Just so you know--it is very much a motor coach style motel. There is nothing fancy about the rooms. They are very old fashioned--it isn't like an updated hotel.

It is safe and family friendly, which is a big plus.

We really liked the CCI. We planned to walk to the parks - but the shuttle was so well run - that we ended up taking it. It runs every half hour.

The walk is not too far (about like HOJOs).

While the previous poster said it is nothing fancy - just a motor coach hotel, it did seem slightly upgraded compared to other harbor motels. The grounds are well kept and there are pavers instead of blacktop in the parking area.

(we have stayed at the BWPPI, HOJOS, Camelot, Desert Inn and suites offsite and all three Disney properties - and CCI was one of favorite off sites motels)

No, but their free shuttle is :goodvibes

My other favorite thing about CCI is the free breakfast. Nothing fancy, but plentiful, quick and good. And there is just something about eating under a palm tree by a pool that screams "vacation!"

I like being able to park right outside my room and the staff is very attentive.

Have a magical trip. :wizard:

I give the Candy Cane Inn a big thumbs up. I really liked staying there. It is nice to know that when you leave the park after a busy and very exhausting day, you don't have to walk back to the hotel. It is also great in the morning that there is food there in the lobby area. Cereal, and pastries, and fruit, and bagels, and well it's good to arrive at the park with something in one's tummy.

I have to agree. We enjoy this hotel, and the beds are comfy, unlike many of the Harbor hotels (ie Desert Inn, Anaheim Plaza, Del Sol...) The rooms are nice, and breakfast is nicer than the other Harbor motels.

I'd say the walk is convenient enough, and as other have said if you are just dead tired at the end of the day they have a v reliable shuttle. CCI is not as close as some Harbor Blvd motels, but it is so much nicer a place to stay. We've stayed at BWPPI and a few others motels in years past and found CCI to be all around cleaner, quieter, and more comfortable. The landscaping is lush and staff are kind and helpful. The pool isn't huge but is v clean. The rooms I've had at CCI are just fine in terms of size (in my mind bigger than some of the standard rooms I've had at GCH). CCI is our go to lodgings if we cannot afford a Disney resort hotel.
