Hi, all! :wave2:

We have gotten FP's for WOC before. If you do a WOC dining package, is the viewing area the same as the FP's or in a different area?

TIA! :worship:

The reserved section for Dining is a different section than the colored fast pass sections.

Is the dining section viewing better than the FP sections? Where are they in relation to the FP section? Thanks!

It is front and center. And you can sit. Not a bad seat in the whole section

This is true for the Fantasmic! dining packages, but I think the OP was talking about WOC. All sections must stand for WOC. The reserved dining package sections differ by which restaurant you dined at. I believe Carthay Circle is supposed to have the best section. Last time I saw WOC I did an Ariel's Grotto dining package and I think we were in the same section, or at least right next to, the Wine Country Trattoria folks.

As for whether the sections are actually better viewing, that is more subjective. The thing is, no matter which section you are in, if you are standing behind a certain number of people you aren't going to get a great view. I think it's more accurate to say that the dining packages offer the possibility of better viewing. If you arrive early, when they are first opening the section, you can get a really great spot. You will likely have access to the "wet zone," in the very front along the water. I personally don't prefer getting that wet, so I like to be one tier back, against the railing that looks down over the wet zone area. My sister and I got there about an hour before the show and had an awesome view. So the dining package was certainly worth it for me. However, it didn't take too long for the railing spots to fill up, and we soon saw others arriving later that were quite displeased with their view, as their children had to stand behind other people and couldn't properly see the show.

So basically...whether you go with the dining package or not, arrive early. If you get a regular FP, you will be jostling for position with more people and will likely need to get in line earlier. If you go with the dining package, you will still need to arrive early but your line/section won't be as crowded.

I'm so sorry! You are correct. I'm really tired

We did the Ariel's Grotto package in May, and the section was front and center. We did Carthay Circle in October, and it had it's own reserved section centered but about halfway back. Third tier I believe. This struck me as a little odd, since in my opinion Carthay Circle is a much nicer restaurant. I just assumed that it's section would be comparable. But, Ariel's Grotto did have the better viewing section. Maybe they rotate?

Just wanted to chime in to say that we decided not to do Carthay Circle dining package because of the bad reviews of the FP area. I have only done WOC once, and based on advice on this board I just pulled a regular FP and went for a spot on the bridge.

The view was perfect, and when we arrived there was nobody there. And when I say "nobody" I mean not another person on the entire bridge viewing area. The CM pointed to the best spot on the bridge and we waited there. We had arrived when the FP area opened, and just went to the bridge instead of following the crowd to the main viewing area. We could have had that same spot if we showed up 30 minutes later, because that's how long it took for somebody else to show up on the bridge. Even at showtime people were standing only two deep.

Based on that experience, I do not plan to ever do a WOC dining package. My package will be to just stroll on up to the bridge 20 minutes after the FP crowd is let in, carrying a corndog and a beer.

I thought you couldn't see well from he bridge.

That may be true for some spots at the very end of the bridge, but most of the bridge viewing area is excellent. HydroGuy concurs, check out the map in the first post of this thread:

http://www.disboards.com/threads/world-of-color-superthread.2542717/

The stars on the map show the good viewing areas, and the bridge has four stars on it, indicating that the entire length of the bridge is good. We stood by the star that is just above the letter "g" in the word "bridge" and the view was pretty much perfect.

^That's a good map. For reference, I was located in the bottom green reserved area, just to the left of the question mark, against that railing. It was a really awesome view.
