a night for a 2 bedroom suite? My family and I are staying in a 2 bedroom suite at Desert Inn and Suites this August for around $250 a night. They have an indoor pool, and I prefer an outdoor outdoor one. I've looked at Tropicana and wondering if the price for a 2 bedroom suite is worth it. I'm already planning the 2024 trip.

You aren't getting a 2 bedroom suite at DLH for anywhere near $400. You probably aren't even getting a standard room for that. Might not even get a standard room at PPH for that these days.
OP said 400+, in my head that + could be 600 or 800. But ok.

How much is the DLH? Can't be much more than 400+ Might as well go to the nice hotel for that price.
If I could get a 2 bedroom suite at the DL hotel for $400, I would NEVER even consider a Good Neighbor hotel. What I should have said is "Is the Tropicana Inn 2 bedroom suite worth it for anywhere between $400 to $500 a night?" 😆

Is any room on Harbor Blvd worth $400+/night? Nope! But, I realize that's the going rate for a suite right now. Trop is only marginally nicer than DI&S. Unless you're going to spend tons of time at the pool, I wouldn't switch.

Desert Palms has really neat room layouts. They even have a room with two bedrooms and two bathrooms! We want to check that one out someday. Plus they have an included hot breakfast. Not as close to the parks as Tropicana or Desert Inn though. Also Home2Suites has a really great room
Size and includes a hot breakfast.

For a suite, $400 sounds about right unfortunately. Are those the suites with a kitchen? Rooms have gotten pretty pricey lately.

I wouldn't switch unless it was to an on-site hotel. Random dates in mid-August at PPH are $488/night. I'd switch to that one.
Posting again to add that you have the dedicated entrance to DCA, monorail close by, and you have full access to the DLH pools until the PPH remodel is done.

That's not for a 2 bedroom suite though. I wouldn't give up a 2 bedroom suite, even to stay onsite for compareable amount (in a hotel room) unless it was in a 2 bedroom suite. My family needs it's space

Ah, got it. For some reason, I didn't get that it needed to be 2 br.

I’m staying at the Tropicana now. We usually do BWPPI and I’m pleasantly surprised by the Tropicana. Check in was easy, rooms are clean. The pool area was busy when we got here today. We didn’t come for the pool, but I can’t say I think it’s worth paying more for.. just depends how much time you plan to actually spend swimming. If it’s significant, then switch. Very few of the hotels on Harbor are “worth” their price but here we all are lol

It's a lot of extra money just for not having a roof over a pool.
If you have ever use the indoor pool at the DI&S you would understand why some people don't like it.

When we go to Disneyland if we are not going to use the pool the DI&S is our go to place.
If we plan any pool time then we always stay somewhere else.

We are from the Pacific Northwest and an outdoor pool even in January is fine for us.

I think, but don’t quote me, the suites have private balconies overlooking Harbor, so you’d have a private view of fireworks. My family would find value in $400-$500 for that. But call and check before you take my word for it that they have those private balconies.

I still stand by my statement, it's a lot of extra money just for a change of pool.
It's up to the OP if that is worth it or not - for me, it would have to be for more than pool scenery.
