Is the tap water in Anaheim drinkable?

I would not drink tap water anywhere in California. The thought of it makes my skin crawl. We have tons of sand and sediment in ours here in Central Cali. My plumber took off my screen in the bathroom and the stuff came out with an orange tinge. Disgusting!

:scared: lol. :faint:

Our tap water in the San Francisco Bay Area is from the Hetch Hetchy in Yosemite and it's delicious. I grew up in Los Angeles drinking tap water but now the water in Anaheim does taste funny to me. I think it's perfectly safe but the taste difference is noticeable.

Well it must not make it up north by about 40 miles from SF. Lol :faint:

Is it better or worse than Florida? Florida water does awful things to my stomach

We went to WDW in December and I was worried about the water but I found that the tap water in Orlando did not taste gross like the Anaheim water does.

I am sure that the water in DL is safe to drink but to me it tastes yuck so I only drink bottled when I am there.

I live in Northern California (North Bay Area) and our water is fine and tastes good. I drink our tap water all the time. So I wouldn't tell people don't drink the water anywhere in California. But I don't like the taste of the water down there. We either bring a case of water bottles and/or bring our Camelbak filtered water bottle to keep refilling. We used the filtered water bottles in WDW too.

While filling up my water bottle at a drinking fountain near BTMRR, I noticed it looked cloudy. I thought this was a little strange. I did think it tasted slightly different when I took a sip of it but I'm not sure if that was psycho-semantic. I conducted a test and took some back to my room. After a few hours, the water appeared clear and tasted fine. Maybe there's some strange carbonation or air bubbles present, I don't know. I do know I didn't flop over dead when I drank some, so yeah it's drinkable.

Anaheim water has vastly improved over the years! Cold/ice is best, too. Bottled water has a plastic taste to it.....yuck!

We drank it last month. It was fine. Though at a few water fountains (like the one by the restrooms at Paradise Pier) I did notice a cloudy tinge to the water and that also seemed to taste different. Oddly, in our hotel room the water coming out of one of the bathroom faucets was clear and tasted fine, but the water that came out of the other one was cloudy and didn't taste good either. It wasn't a psychological thing either; DH insisted to our 6-year-old that she was being overly dramatic when she said it tasted bad. Later that night he got a glass, got a mouthful, and walked right back into the bathroom and spit it out. And then he apologized to the 6-year-old.

We don't generally drink bottled water so we probably don't have particularly discerning taste.

There is a filtered water dispenser on the outside patio at RDZ, right by BTMRR. You can refill your water bottle there. Also, you can refill water bottles with cold, filtered water from a clean drinking fountain at First Aid in both parks. The nurses actually encourage that because they want you to stay hydrated. Most CS places will give you free cups of filtered ice water to pour into your water bottle. And Plaza Inn will let you fill a plastic cup with cold, filtered water from the soda fountains to pour into your bottle. This way, if you are thirsty right away, you won't have to wait for the water to settle.

Cloudy water from a drinking fountain is usually air bubbles. Let it settle for a minute and it should start to clear. On the other hand, I've seen so many diapers being changed in drinking fountains lately that I'm getting pickier about where I'll drink water from and what surfaces I'll touch in the parks.

Agree on this. Who are these parents who think that changing a diaper or washing their child's bottom in a public drinking fountain is acceptable? That's the main reason I choose to refill my water bottle at Plaza Inn or at First Aid. I'd like to see one of these parents try to wash a diaper in the drinking fountain in front of the First Aid CMs.

Ewwww! That's a thing people do!? Thankfully I've not been witness to that nasty behavior! I don't know if I could quietly watch that take place and not comment to the parent who thought that was a logical idea...

My wife is a "it's contaminated" kinda person, so she would say don't drink it. And she makes me haul tons of bottles of water with us on our trip.

But for me, when I'm at the hotel, I head over to the ice machine and load up. For me, if the water is really cold, the taste doesn't matter.

I don't know if they filter it at the TS restaurants, but I have never had an issue with the water in the parks or any DTD restaurant at DL/CA. Now, I will say the stuff that comes out of the tap from the bathroom in the rooms at DLH is barely fit for brushing your teeth- I just assumed it was the faucet/pipes there. So, we only drink bottled water in the rooms, but I'm fine with the glasses of water at the restaurants. I don't drink anything that comes from the germ factories---oops I mean drinking fountains--- so I can't help you there.

People tend to prefer the taste of the water they're used too. Some are more sensitive to the flavor of water than others. My husband does not care. I prefer it filtered or ice cold. We bring bottled water, but reuse the same bottle all day filling from the filtered stations.
