Is the subs on Nemo a tight fit

I am semi clostophobic and was wondering how tight of a squeeze the nemo ride is and how many people are in there with you..

What is it 30 people in each sub I think? It's not the most roomy thing in the world no, but I have some clostophobic issues myself and the subs don't get to me.

I just hate the staircase, I always feel like I'm going to eat it, both going down the stairs and back up! LOL Ah it was fond memories!

I just bumped the post with pictures that I took on the Nemo ride. Two of them are from the inside of the submarine. I hope they help give you an idea of what the inside is like.

I was okay for part of the ride but after awhile, I really wanted to get out of that submarine!!

It's 40 per sub and, well, there's no such thing as personal space on them. If you're clausterphobic, you can try the video observation room. Not quite the same as actually being on the subs themselves, but you do get to see the whole ride.

heck, you probably get a better view of the ride from there... heard there is a 60" Plasma TV in there with the ride recorded in HD. :)

I've seen both versions (in the sub and the video) and while I think there's something to be said for actually being in the sub, the video is pretty good (yes, very clear picture and a very nice screen, plus a heck of a sound system). Plus, the video was shot at 10am as opposed to my sub ride being at almost 10pm. It doesn't make a difference on any of the show building stuff, but the outside stuff was a lot easier to see on the video. The video was also shot from the port side, while I rode the sub on the starboard side.

OK … just call me Latetotheparty. Where, how, what is this video thing?

The "video thing" is actually a room set up for the handicap, as the subs are not wheelchair accessible. :tink:

Just ask to use that as opposed to riding in a sub. Tell the cm you are clausterphobic or physically unable to get into the sub (the stairs are narrow, small steps and would be easy to fall down if you're not careful).

It's kinda a tight fit but it's not as crampped from floor to ceiling as it is from side to side when sitting next to someone. Thankfully I was sitting next to a small child or else I might of had one uncomfortable ride.

I haven't been on a sub in years (since I was a teenager and that was many moons ago) and I remember it being a tight fit (and I was much smaller then). I'm glad they have the option for the people who don't like tight spaces.

If you are claustaphobic you may not enjoy the subs. I felt that it was a tight fit. Everyonce in a while I would look around the cabin and see how squeezed in everyone was. Then I started having thoughts of how hard it would be to get everyone up those steps quicky in an emergency. They seal the hatch when you get in and you feel locked in. I DID enjoy the show though once I took my mind off the actual submarine.
