I know the obvious answer is "no" since it's a family restaurant. However, I'm just wondering what kind of sci-fi clips are shown? Giant creatures, screaming people, bugs attacking??? Anything that may be scary? I don't want to plan a dinner that will cause my nightmares later. I'm assuming it's fine since so many folks love it but I just thought I'd ask. My husband and I ate there 11 years ago and I don't rememeber anything scary but I wonder if my opinion would be different now that we have kids.

My small guys did not get scared at all... They were 2 1/2 and 4 the first time we went...The sat and watched the movies but never expressed that they were afraid of anything.

We had the same experience as the PP. My sons were 7 and 3 and the 7 yr old was very timid. No problems at all - they watched and laughed !

The clips are from super-cheesy, b-rate sci-fi movies. I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. There are big bugs, oversized creatures, etc, but everything is in black and white, and the atmosphere is too calm and relaxing to get scared!

I think most of the clips were to cheesy to even get onto Mystery Science Theatre. They are beoyned cheesy and I dont think any age would even think twice about them.

My two were just 19 months and 5 the first time we went, they weren't bothered at all. Second time we went they were 3 and 6.5, same thing. This past year though, ages 4 and 7.5, they were a little freaked out. I think they just paid attention for the first time maybe or perhaps the films were different. Some of them can be a little scary I can see, for some kids. I wouldn't say they were scared, but a few times, they all hid their faces and didn't watch.

My DS, almost 8 at the time, had nightmares for 2 months after this meal :scared1: . We are going back this year ( he will be almost 11) - I think he can handle it now :goodvibes . I think most kids would be Ok with it, but you know your kids best.

I got a little nervous that my son would get freaked out last year. He didn't though, and I have to think it was because it was so obvious all of it was fake. Plus they showed a bunch of robot clips when we were there too, and he loves robots.

We went there when my oldest was 7 and she hated the movies and 3 years later refuses to go back. My 5 and 3 yr olds were fine with the movies.
