I just called our travel agent, but I'm dying for an answer.

I just got a postcard that mentions "40% off pernight, at select Disney Moderate Resorts, in a standard room. And there are other REsort room types available....."

Does that mean I'm probably getting a break at our Garden View room at the Contemporary????

Or-- is it a standard marketing ploy that everyone is getting????

Nope, the yellow code is a PIN code. I wondered th same thing and called yesterday, and my value room at ASMovies was only $49.20 a night (rack rate was $82). I'd call and see what it changes your room too.

Ah, man, that would be SOOO cool!!!!

Keep your fingers crossed for me, will you please?

YYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

Here's the deal:

Since we were originally booked at the Contemporary, we have 2 choices:

a) save $200 and stay at the Grand Floridian
b) save $450 and stay at the Poly:cool1: :cool1:

Poly, here we come!!!!!

OK- I got this code Tuesday evening when I got home from work.

I spoke to the AAA agent then. He outlined the options, and I said I had to speak to my husband. The agent was off yesterday so I sent an email and left a message on his voice mail asking him to take the room at the Polynesian with the code discount. He called Disney at 9:30 today (Thursday morning.)

He was told that there were no rooms left at the Polynesian with the PIN code. How is that POSSIBLE????? Is it conceivable that every person who received this postcard managed, within a 36 hour time frame, to book the exact same hotel during the exact same 6 night period???

I just spoke to Disney. The CM said that it's possible (though she sounded doubtful.) But then we should still be able to apply the code to my original reservation at the Contemporary-- an option that wasn't offered on Tuesday evening.

Ladies and gentlemen, I coached debate for 18 years. I AM getting some sort of a deal here, I promise you. If I hadn't gotten a PIN code, I would have been content with the original package I booked with the AAA discount. But I know how rare those PIN codes are. I got one and I'll be ... darned... if I'll let it go to waste!!!

I just emailed my travel agent. He'll call Disney again, find out the options, and book from a list I gave him (in order, what I'm hoping he'll be offered.) He can call me afterwards and let me know where we're staying and the package price.

For future reference, you can make your ressie through Disney and then have it transferred to the AAA. I did that in August when I booked my December 2008 trip. I was in a situation similar to yours where I had to book the room before it was gone and all I had to do was go to the AAA office and she typed out a one line note asking for the ressie to be switched, within a few days it was switched, no fuss, no muss.
