No problem. As a member of the DIS, I think you should already know that we're all here because we love to talk about Disney!
Personally, I didn't really like the All Stars. I'm sure its fine for a lot of people, but I've been spoiled by the Deluxe resorts. We really only stayed there because it was a spur of the moment trip. Our friends talked us into going with them the night before!! For 8 people, I think it might be a little small. You may even want to consider getting 3 rooms to help with the bathroom situation. I thought the food court was way overpriced. I know all food at Disney is expensive, but when putting together a meal at the food court, it cost the same as table service in a restaurant.
We had a bad experience with the Polynesian and asked to be moved - which is how we ended up at the Yacht Club. We had a garden concierge room in Hawaii and we were one of those couples who noticed the smell. It wreaked havoc on my DH's sinuses. The second day we were there, they shampooed are carpets and they were SOAKED. When we complained, they quickly accomodated us at the YC. Now as for the YC, we LOVE that place. I can't say enough good things about this resort. The rooms, the concierge, the pool, the location, etc, etc... the list goes on. Do you know you can often get garden view rooms for about $198 a night? Personally, I don't think the Polynesian is worth the price they charge anymore. Maybe 10 or 15 years ago it was a deluxe, but it really needs a serious rehab. The age is really showing.
Wilderness Lodge is a wonderful resort. I've heard complaints about bus service, but we never had any problems when we stayed there. The only complaint I had was the small size of Roaring Forks, but they've expanded since our stay. I really think WL is a great bargain for a deluxe resort as their prices are sort of midway between a moderate and a deluxe.
We're actually considering a split stay in May between WL and YC. I highly recommend either of these two resorts.
