Is the Plaza for lunch a mistake?

We're planning a MK day (1 of 2) to include lunch at the Plaza.
However, we arrive at MK for 9am opening, and have lunch ressies at 11:35.
My question- is the Plaza out of the way to go to if we are in Fantasyland or Adventureland? Is that wasting time to go back to Main Street?

No I think that sounds like a good plan:) ...we always arrive at MK for rope drop then book a lunch in either crystal palace or the plaza..If you are going in the very hot summer months you will be ready for a nice long break in the AC..:) ...The plaza is great..fantastic burgers and you get a nice view of the castle...From 9am to 11.30 you will have gotten all of FL done and probably AL too.

Totally agree. We always do Plaza Restaurant our last day before we head to the airport. We get to the MK for rope drop and then have lunch at 11:30 or noon. Here are some photos from September's meal:

You won't have to fight the Main Street crowds as The Plaza is the very last place on Main Street (heading in towards the castle). It's actually on the path to Tomorrowland, going through Tomorrowland Noddle Terrace Station. We love The Plaza, it's a great value & good food!

If you dine within any park you are not going out of your way and I would also say if you dine at one of the monorail resort while at the MK you are also fine.

The Plaza is in a very central location so you are never very far away. The Plaza is a 'must eat' for us.

I agree with the previous posters. The Plaxa is a good choice and relatively close to Fantasyland.

We ate at the Plaza around noon on our MK day during spring break last year (week before Easter) and did Space Mountain, Buzz, most of FL, Splash Mountatin and BTMR all before we ate. Plus my mom and I really enjoyed the food. Great price and good eats.

Love me some Plaza! We'll be there next month. Those pix are making me hungry!!

I usually try to place us in Tomorrowland just before our ADR & cut up the back way to the restaurant. Adventureland should be an easy trip. Fantasyland would only be a problem if there is a show in front of the castle.

If there is some extra time before or after the meal, outside the Plaza is a good spot for pictures with the castle in the background.

The picture of those french fries is killing me! YUM
Thanks for the input- I feel much better. I had made the ressie cause I read so many good comments here about the food at the Plaza and I want a good lunch for this busy day...then when I was looking at a map of the park I got worried.
Thanks for calming my fears!!

We liked the Plaza. I don't think it's really out of the way, as the others said you won't have to travel all of main street. Also, perhaps there with be a castle forecourt show you'd like to see after lunch or something :)

We enjoy the Plaza and it's a nice place to relax for a bite. However, I noticed in the pictures they had the potatoe salad. We ate there in October and was informed that the potatoe salad has been eliminated from the menu. We were sad as it has been a favorite in our family ever since we started eating there (10+ years).

I was really impressed with the food at the Plaza. My 3 yr. old got tomato soup with his meal. He did'nt want it so dh & I ate it & it was the best tomato soup I ever had & the sandwiches were great.

In all my trips, I've actually never dined there, but I can vouch for the location being great!

Yes, they replaced the German Potato Salad with Broccoli Slaw or something like that. Thankfully, the french fries are still there! Yum. :)
