Yes, it is a counter service. Yes, you can get a steak as a counter service. They have a kids section. I believe you can find the menu on allearsnet. If not, I know Buzz has it on his Official CSR Sheet on the resort page.

They changed their menu just before Xmas and the ribeye steak is no longer on the menu. DH and I were talking to one of the servers who we've come to know after years of going there and she said they'd just changed the menu the day before and the employees were trying to memorize the new menus. They've also made changes to the Wok Station.

I can't wait to check it out in 29 more days!

ps - Good to see you Kathy!!

thanks for the info. we are going to be on the quick service dining plan when we go in 12 days. :cool1: :cheer2: does anyone know of other counter service restaurants where you can maximize the value of your credits and get decent food for counter service credits?

Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD is a pretty good bargain for CS.

Flame Tree BBQ at AK has pretty good size portions, but not that big of a selection.

I read someone had the rib eye after Christmas. We will have to count on Buzz to fill us in on all the details after his trip next months.

I just called Pepper Market (407/939-3953) because it was driving me crazy -- Ribeye is still offered at dinner but no longer offered at lunch.

The priciest CS meal at MK is at Cosmic Ray's. It's a lot of food, but not such great quality.

May I ask what you had? We ate at Cosmic Ray's in September and loved it--had turkey wrap and pulled pork and it was by far the best counter service meal we had the entire trip.

I love the Turkey Wrap too. I am not stuck on the chips or pasta salad that comes with it. They need a new side.

1/2 Chicken and BBQ Rib Combination served with Mashed Potatoes and a seasonal vegetable $13.99

With drink and dessert, it's close to $20 menu price so seems like a great deal for a CS credit on the DDP. It's enough food for two to split.

But maybe other things on their menu taste better. I haven't tried the pulled pork sandwich.

We had the Chicken and Rib combo last year on our trip and thought it was surprisingly good for CS! I look forward to ordering this same item. Can't wait! ;)

Has anyone used DDQS meal for breakfast at Pepper Market ? Does orange juice count as beverage (it is not possible with refillable mug if my memory serves me, right?) ? Can you get something from the bakery for "dessert" for breakfast thereby getting your main course, dessert, and beverage ? Is there anything at PM that you CANNOT get with DDQS for any meal?

Nope, no dessert for breakfast. You could get 2 drinks, say orange juice and coffee. And if you have a refillable mug and don't really need 2 drinks, you can get a bottle of water or something to take with you as one of the drinks.

At lunch or dinner, some of the desserts were not eligible under the DDP. That was kind of irritating - not just that they were ineligible, but that it wasn't easy to figure out which ones were eligible.

I don't know when you were there, but someone who recently came back said that all desserts were now covered on the DDP. I don't know...I'll try to find out in September.

Since a dessert cannot be included with CS meal at PM for breakfast then is it worth it use a CS credit for breakfast at Pepper Market ? I was thinking of getting an entree, OJ and "dessert" of a donut or cinnamon roll etc. Since that won't be allowed is it worth it ? Oh, and OJ isn't part of the refill station, right? I have been there twice now and cannot remember. :rolleyes1

Truthfully, I preferred the breakfast food at the Maya Grill or getting one of the sweet rolls as a snack credit at the Cafe Rix. The omelet I had was good...but not great at Pepper Market (I prefer there lunch/dinner).

I do not believ eorange jucie is included in the refill station. It is just soda, coffee and iced tea, I believe.

I was last there Aug-Sept 2008. Hopefully it's changed since then. I'm sure it was a lot of trouble for the CMs to explain & to listen to the complaints.
