is the parade on TV this year?

Yes, but some markets aren't showing it or are putting it on at another time. You can check your area at www.tvguide.com

HTH!

On a post I saw a few days ago it said that they were airing it at 5am (12/26) in the Boston area. I know here in Orlando it is being aired at 5pm on a local broadcast station, not on the Main ABC channel...

Has anyone heard if the parade will be on TV this year

Alas, it is not showing in Boston until 3am, due to Patriots all access. I am very disappointed in this. Don't get me wrong I like the Pats, but the game isn't on until Monday night, so why we have to have this on at 10 am Christmas morning is beyond me. I think it's ridiculous.

Thanks for all the information about the times for the parade. I cannot believe they are not going to air until three A. M. this will be the first year they do thi. I AM very disappointed. :confused

Well, down here in west central Florida, it is going to be on at 10AM on ABC

Here in IL it'll be on from 9 to 11 a.m. on ABC. This is my excitement for the day!

In Washington, DC the parade will air on channel 7 at 10a.m., but in baltimore it is not on the schedule for this morning :(.

realize i am late on this thread. here in orlando the parade aired at 5p on one of the ABC affliate stations, not the main ABC station. at 10am on the main ABC station aired Jack Hanna which was a rerun. so no idea why the parade didn't or couldn't air at correct time and on actual main ABC station. just didn't happen that way.

The parade didn't show in my area and I complained to the local ABC affiliate. They responded to me:

"ABC does not allow its affiliate stations to preempt ABC programming with ABC programming. Due to network programming on Sunday, we could not air this two hour program without preempting network programming, which we can not do.

ABC had informed us that they would possibility prefeed this parade to its affiliates. This would allow WKRN to air the parade on Saturday because there was no network programming from 12noon - 5pm. ABC decided not to prefeed this program to its affiliates. This prevented us along with other television stations from airing the Disney Christmas Parade.

We will forward your e-mail to ABC in hopes that they will schedule this program in a time period that all can see or at least provide its affiliates with a prefeed of the show. Thank you again for your e-mail and we apologize for the inconvenience."

The problem with that excuse is that the network programming Sunday morning was MVMCP. Thus they preempted the parade (network programming) for some other (non network) crap.

Actually in my area it was networking programming - it was the usual Sunday morning political news show with George Stefanopoulos and an interview George Will was doing with someone - kept checking back to see if the parade was coming on, but it was this program instead. We're in central time, so the parade should have been on starting at 9 a.m. They inserted the George Will interview to take up the second hour since we missed the first half of the parade, instead of picking up the Christmas parade half-way through. After that, the Disney cartoon stuff came on that came after the parade.
