Sorry if this is a really silly question, i've just booked my first trip to wdw so i'm new to this area of the boards.

The FP system is so confusing to me, i'm used to the usual one at DLP that I believe they had before and I've heard from a few people that the new one is a real pain, is this permanent?

It looks so scary :confused3

It looks like it's here to stay.

Yup.

But don't worry - it's not scary. Just takes some planning to utilize it to it's best potential. ;)

With the amount of money they've put into this, I think it's definitely here to stay. The system might go through some tweaks and improvements over the next handful of years, maybe. It's definitely something that sounds more confusing than it actually is in practice, though. Once you create your account and start booking your Fast Pass+, it's really simple and easy to use. My family actually finds it easier than the old fast pass system because it involves a lot less running around the parks.

A. Yeah, it's likely here to stay

B. it's not terribly complicated or scary once you get the hang of it.

It is however a very different system. Once you accept that and roll with it, it's not so bad

Permanent yes, though it may get another tweak or two before it takes its final form.

"Permanent" is a relative term at Disney.

Many would say that the original FP system was "permanent..."
until it was replaced with this one.

So yes, this FP system is "permanent" until...

Don't be afraid. I was a die hard lover of the old FP system. We just did a week at WDW with new way and actually liked it. Like others have said, once you grasp the concept and play around with it a bit, it'll be OK.

It's as permanent as anything at Disney, and many permanent things do change there and/or at least evolve there.

We've used the new system, it works quite well, we liked it. Takes a little practice, not a lot though.

Enjoy.
