Is the new 90+10 policy "fair and balanced"?

What I think is unfair is all the people with these 10 day vacations when I can barely manage a 7 day one.

Exactly! but who said life was fair for everyone. The policy is what it is.You can complain about it all you want, but it is what it is.Not everyone is going to get all of their coveted adrs all the time. I have been shut out of them before, you learn to deal with it. OP , I am very sorry you feel slighted, and I am glad you can vent here.Maybe you should let Disney know how you feel.

Yeah! Or how about someone who booked an 11 day trip who has to call back the next day to get that last day of ADRs? ;)

This is actually an important point: It actually is fair and balanced (of Disney) because we all start off with the same opportunities offered to us by Disney. Where what is available to each of us diverges is strictly related to each guest's own personal choices and resources.

This starts with the decisions about whether to visit (a decision many folks overlook the significance of). It continues with the decision about when to visit, where to stay, what to do when you get there, etc., but also includes the decisions each guest makes for themselves with regard to when to make such decisions.

Of course, even the ability to afford to visit WDW, at all, is a reflection of each guest's own affluence and discretion with regard to how they wish to spend their money.

However, Disney starts everyone on the same, level playing-field, and let's the guest and the guest's own circumstances determine what advantages they shall or shall not enjoy.

I was going to let this drop, but let me get this straight,

As I have said before, there is a simple solution to this - lose the +10 part of the policy!

I am still not clear on how it would affect ADR's if resort guests had a 90 day window and non-resort guests had an 80 day window as you suggested in an earlier post?

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Could you elaborate?

I love the 90+ 10 day policy.

I did not like the 180+10 day policy beacuse we often plan our vacations with less the six momths time before the trip. This makes it much easier for us to get ADRs.

I see this as fair and balanced. I like having the perk of being a WDW resort guest (value to deleux) of being able to make the ADRs for my entire trip in one call (we normally only go for 7 days).

The only reason I liked the 180+10, was because we book the FD bounceback...a year in advance for Sept. In the past, we have been able to get our ADRs before Disney opened up FD ( to the general public) in April. This year who knows what...if...or...when FD will be offered, but I have I feeling with the 90+10 we may have a harder time getting a few of the choice ADRs. Our only perk may be, we decided to go into Oct. this year.:confused3

As far as 90+10 being fair......as long as WDW gives all of the onsite guests the same perk! :thumbsup2

I think its as fair as you can get. Disney World is the happiest place on earth, not the most perfect. I don't think there is anything wrong with giving customers who stay on property a head start on reservations.
