I never ever wimp out of rides and will go on anything, but something about the mummy gets to me. I finally plucked up the courage to ride last trip but while i was walking throught the line a "statue" jumped out at me and I ran out screaming  haha

Can someone please tell me its not as bad as I've heard? My bf will be desperate to ride this

The first time I went on the Mummy, I was by myself (DH waited outside with DD) and I personally didn't find it too scary. :goodvibes However the lady next to me screamed the entire time and couldn't wait to get off! :confused3 Her DH even apologized for the way she reacted as we were unloading. :rotfl2:

I must admit that I also fell victim to the "atmospheric characters" inside the Mummy building. I was walking a little bit behind a group of teen boys while going through the single rider line and was trying to keep up with them a bit as the line was sooo dark. :scared: Suddenly a great big Egyptian God leapt out in front of me - now that bit was scary - so then I walked/jogged as fast as I could to get to the loading area! :crazy2: :rotfl:

The Mummy has one of the best set ups I think. Atmosphere seems just like a pyramid would be like.

Scary.......not really. Fun..........YES!!!!!

I guess if you don't like fire and unexpected then this ride would be scary for you.

But its really good, once you ride it, you'll never be scared again:thumbsup2

I did not find it scary at all tbh. Half the fun is getting scared though, if all rides were rainbows and sunshine then they would get pretty boring. Even if you get scared then tough it out and judge it after 2 or 3 rides. Its a great ride!

The Revenge of the Mummy Ride at some parts is really scary for first time riders on this attraction. If you read the signs posted throughout the queue they state that this is a high speed rollercoaster which contains sudden drops, hills, turns, and backwards motion. Don't let these signs scare you away. This is a mild-intense ride and it is no where close to Dueling Dragons or the Hulk in terms of intensity. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Not scary to me at all, but then again I go to Halloween Horror Nights at least a dozen tims a year. Give it a try...the special effects are amazing (and it will remind you that Universal loves their pyrotechnics!). Mummy is tops in my Universal/IOA faves.

Scary??? More like a merry-go-round to me.:lmao: I ride it over and over until my DW is tired of waiting for me.;)

I am a coaster chicken in the worst way..I have rode all the coasters at US and IOA once..But The Mummy, once I rode it<is great..I ride it 6 or 7 times evreytime we go now...:thumbsup2

ROTM is only as scary as you allow it to be. The number one rule, besides no bags, is to "Scream for your Mummy!"

No, that's not optional. It's Required.

Some would even say that the queue/setup is scarier than the ride itself, which is a lot of fun. If you remember that everything is robotic and nothing will touch you, you'll be fine. Anyone/anything that scares you, creeps you out, etc is supposed to do that. They're helping you prepare for your role, which is to scream on the rollercoaster!

Is it similar to Expedition Everest?

I too am a big coaster chicken and every year I was teased by DW and DS's about it and a few years ago was talked into riding the mummy by my FIL and can't get enough of the ride now and totally love it but the only thing I don't like is the fire cause even though its not going to touch you I don't like the heat blast but it is a must do for me every Universal trip :cool1:

The first time I went to Universal I went on The Mummy but kept my eyes shut for the whole ride, because all the adverts and publicity I'd seen for it had described it as being a very scary experience.
However, the second time I went on it I absoutely loved it! It's easily one of my Top 10 rides, and not at all scary :)

Well, it's not that scary but it's really fun. :thumbsup2 We really loved it. One of the nicest ride that anyone must tried.

Have a nice day. :)

We checked out the video and it seems really great. My son is a little nervous about it. Is is a rollercoaster? It is kinda hard to tell from the video. I kinda looked like something like Dinosaur but faster.
