Is the Monorail now closed?

I thought I read somewhere that the Monorail would be closing soon. Is that true? Does anyone have the dates?

As of Monday it was still running. It is in shuttle mode, though. I think it doesn't close until maybe September, though it wasn't listed as being closed on the September DL calendar.

I've heard SO many things about the Monorail. If it's still open in just over a week (July 29 - August 19) will we be able to ride it? Even though it's not as good as the WDW one for seeing the resort, it's still nice to ride it. Or will it be for DLR hotel guests only?

According to riderefurbs.com it goes down on Aug 21 I think, but I wouldn't take that as concrete since they have been off ALOT lately.

You'll be able to ride it. But it's really more transportation to/from DTD right now than anything else. You can't really see much from it except a bit of DCA.

My brother told me that you can no longer ride the monorail and sit for the entire round trip. He said you have to get off when it stops. I'm not sure how strict they would be as far as you getting off and getting right back on, but he said he was told to get off last time he rode it.

It was still running, one way only, when we were there last week. It was a pain using it to get IN to the park from DLH though. Because it was only running one train the lines were HORRIBLE at the station in DTD. And sometimes people were not obeying the "one way" only rule and would NOT get off the train at DTD. And the CM's weren't always making them. So the line would barely move. Somtimes 3-4 trains would go by before we could get on. By the end of the trip we would only take it from DL to DTD, which usually was okay. And just walk in to DL. I'll be glad when it's up and running full again, but next year we'll be staying at GCH anyway.
