I'm still trying to decide between CBR and POFQ. One of the main reason I wanted to pick CBR is the pool. I have read in several posts that it is always crowded and another said the pool was to small for the resort. So anyone who has stayed there let me know ? It may help me decide which resort to stay at.

I think the pool sizes are comparable, although they are themed very differently. The advantage of CBR is that there are quiet pools too, which allow a lot of the adults an alternate place to swim and relax.

We stayed at CBR in August and it was never overly crowded. I don't think the pool is small at all. In fact we originally planned on staying at POFQ but the kiddies weren't happy with the pictures of the pool.

We were there 2 weeks ago and the main pool was always crowded. Never could find a chair to sit anywhere near the pool. We would always go to the quiet pool and have the whole pool to ourself most of the time!

We stayed at the CBR in 2010 and POFQ in 2011. The main pool at CBR didnt look that busy because its so large but the hot tub? Man that was nuts because it was filled with little kids every day we tried to use it. At POFQ the pool was not crowded and we had the hot tub to ourselves all the time.

Both times we've visited since the remodel have been in May and we never had a problem with overcrowding.

We were at CBR last Sept., the pool wasn't too bad. The only problem that we had was kids in the spa. There is that great kiddie area with the pirate ship & other play items, but kids had to hang out in spa. It was crazy & of course parents didn't care that their kids were being a bother.

Well that would be a bummer with the kids in the spa because that is one of my favorite things to do, is relax in the hot tub:sad2: I guess it may just depend on what time of year we visit on how crowded it is. If we choose CBR I hope the kids do not take over the spa. We will be going in the middle of October so anyone been there at this time of year ?

Anyone else have any experience with the CBR pool or anyone go in the middle of October, if so how was it ?

Haven't been in October we always go at Christmas time. Which is the busiest time of year. I compare the main pool to the food court. If you go at peak hours it will be busy, if you go at off times it will be fine. At 2-3pm the main pool was crazy, but if you went at 6pm while everyone wa eating it was fine.

Yeah that would probably work out to avoid the pool during the busy hours.

We were there in Feb last year which is a big school vacation week for this region of the country, so I would imagine pretty busy time at WDW, the main pool at CBR never looked to crowded to us, and it was actually HOT that week believe it or not. It actually seemed like we saw more people in the quiet pools than the main one.

Thanks for posting this question! I just made reservations for CBR. We are going in August. Good to know about the quiet pools! Is it correct that the main pool is zero entry...kind of like walking into the ocean at the beach?

Yes :goodvibes. We were at the Poly last year which has zero entry and we loved it !

CBR main pool and kiddie pool are both zero entry.

In Oct/Nov of 2010, neither one of the pools was crowded. We went just about every day!

I've never visited the CBR during October but have during various times in May (including Memorial Day and Star Wars Weekends) and early to mid-August. The main pool has never been overly crowded. The zero entry pool is pretty large, has two slides and there are two hot tubs. Having said that, we spent the majority of our swim time in the quiet pools which we, sometimes, had all to ourselves.

April or Easter break is, IMHO, the busiest time at any of the Disney the pools and for a certain period of time there won't be chairs at plenty of main pools. But they free up eventually. We've had trouble getting pool chairs lunch time, early afternoon during that time period at Poly, SAB, POFQ, WL, and CBR.

October the pool is likely to be just fine, and don't forget there are 2 hot tubs at CBR.

Hopefully it wont be to bad and dont worry I wont forget about CBR having two hot tubs

Is there an age or height limit for the pirate/splash pool? DD will be 7.5 when we visit.

We have visited in October and I did not find the pool crowded at all. Now the chairs around the pool, while they also were not crowded, there are few if any that have a view of the pool (ie can keep an eye on your kids from them) but there certainly were plenty of chairs around the pool area and water space in the pool.
