is the line cutting really that bad at DLP?

Havnt read all replys so may have been mention already....

I find Potc terrible for line cutters when it's busy, the majority of the queue is wide which makes it easy to pass unless there are 4-5 in your party that can spread across blocking the way.

We thought so to.

New trick.

One ore two little children behind you pass the row by saying my mommy is in front of you.
Okè is possible sow they pass the row without problems.
A few minutes later a whole family is panicking and calling THE CHILDREN ARE MISSING.
Everyone makes place and hope fully they can find the little ones.
Next day same children and same parents use this trick again. They just send the little ones ahead just to cut the line for them selves.
Disgusting!!!!

By the way the second day it where two families who pulled that trick.

That was the kind of thing that happened to me. It's annoying but what are you gonna do? :confused3 You can't stop a child from going through because it is just possible that a parent is waiting ahead and what sort of monster would come between a parent and their chick? :rotfl: I don't think any nationality is worse than another - some Brits were appalling and some French/Spanish/German/whatever were completely charming and vice versa. Rudeness seems to recognise no boundaries.

I expereinced the most blatant line cutting last week (my first visit btw !) in the line for 'It's a Small World Ride'.

The woman in front of us paused to take a photo of her husband so the Gf and I paused too, but a Portugese woman, followed by her partner and kids from behind us cut right through, spoiling the photo as well as pushing in!

A double wammy if you like!

This was our last day and the queue moves very quickly on this ride so I didn't bother arguing (I'd lost count of the number of arguments I got in over queue jumping and general pushing and shoving in other 'non ride' queues (other than the daily hotel shuttle bus ride 'stampede'!)

I just let it go. Getting cross or upset about it just spoils your holiday.

I know rocking the boat can spoil your holiday a bit, but if we dont say anything to these people, then they will continue to do it.

If it happens on our upcoming trip, i for sure will say something, even if its just to the CM's.

I do agree that arguing does spoil the atmos. But if you remonstrate with folk - or at least make a loud comment about SOME people's bad behaviour it might get through. [My Ma is a past master at the pointed comment! LOL]

The bus scrummage in the morning is also pretty appalling I do agree. Hopefully though I'll be able to take a leisurely stroll round Lake Disney rather than do battle with the Bus Bandits

After a day or two you do get used to it and it becomes a case of...

'If you can't beat them, join em'

You've no choice, otherwise you'd never get on a bus or get breakfats at your hotel!

Im not sure if just ignoring the queue jumping really helps though. I know I shouldnt cause hassle or let it ruin my trip, but if my three little ones are made to wait longer for a ride, character autograph or meal because queue jumpers have no manners I dont think I could help myself.

Have to agree on the shuttle bus comments though, they can be a nightmare. They were terrible in florida last year. Not for queue jumping as such, but for lack of patience. We had our boys, then aged 23mths in a double buggy and my daughter 6.
We had to develope removing the boys and boarding the bus along with collapsing and collecting the buggy and grabbing my daughter in one swift move. Because the moment we slowed to collapse the buggy in the early days, people would swarm around us (although we never took longer than about 20secs to sort it out) on to the bus. We would then have the problem that the bus was full by the time we had managed to get ourselves sorted, and if we did by chance get on, then I had to stand and hold the boys (bloomin difficult). Fortunately, some of those standing times, some lovely american and britsh families helped out by making extra room or letting my daughter squeeze onto a seat with another child.

I guess its the joys of staying onsite I guess. Thankfully, im driving on this trip.

I still can wait though!! 7 weeks and counting!

we experienced a few line pushers when we were there but decided to stand firm, put our arms out to the side of us and say very firmly, ' dont think so!!'!!! we quite enjoyed doing it as if you let them do it, what can you do? we noticed on the studio tour after you had queued till you get to the trams ready to board that people that were behind you surge forward to grab a car to sit in but i guess that is standard when its a bit of a free for all. we also noticed how one parent would queue, the rest of the family go off and then join the single member when they are near the front!!! but they are relying on people to let them through...very sneaky. its all fun, at least once you have expereinced it you are better prepared next time. we decided that no-one was getting infront of us from the first day.

I remember once we were at the front of the queue for the flying carpet ride and managed to end up with no seat. :sad2:

we also had queue jumpers on POTC, it got quite funny as they was a group that kept pushing in front of us and we kept pushing back in front of them! no one said anything to each other though.

Its a pity that not every one has common courtesy. I will sure say something if my lo loses out on seeing a character. At Busch Gardens your thrown out of the park or at least they used to do that there were big signs about jumping lines. Surely you dont need to be a genious to not cut into lines just plane dumb and ignorant.

It's a shame but it can be quite funny when you see someone trying to queue jump unsuccessfully though. Gives you a satisfying feeling of superiority LOL

I was at DLRP for just 2 days - May 27th and May 28th - solo.

The parks were not very crowded so did not see MUCH line jumping but one incident aggravated me.

3 boys - 10 -12 years old I'd say (old enough to know better!) - on Space Mountain. They just started running up on the side of the queue past everyone. Two got by me before I realized what was happening and so I stepped in the path of the 3rd and said "I don't think so". He looked at me a little wide-eyed but he didn't go any further, and the other 2 ended up waiting for him ;-) at the loading point.

At the same time, same ride, there was a middle-age couple behind me that kept trying to cut me off. I mean really - there was just one of me!

And as someone else mentioned, there was NO respect of personal space. I'm a bit claustrophic, so having someone 2 inches from my nose is not pleasant at all. The only help I had was I had a largish backpack on, so I just kept kind of turning in circles which left a nice little space for me - people who crowded me would keep getting hit by the pack and after several turns would step away. Of course, they must of thought I was loony, spinning in circles, but at least I could breath!!!

Had a great time otherwise - very very pleasant castmembers and no one seemed to mind my "american" accent :)

Your post made me laugh out loud! My backpack is always huge and bumping everyone. Didn't think of using at a defense against line jumpers. Thanks for the idea! :rotfl:
