Is the Land as crazy as WDW during Spring Breaks?

Hello! My husband and I are tossing around the idea of bringing our kids to Disneyland some time next year. We were thinking of going during Fall Break, but my middle daughter said she wants to go for her birthday, which is in the spring. At first I thought no way...we would never go to WDW during Spring Break and I assumed Disneyland was the same. But then i wondered if it was as busy during that time of year or if that was a Florida thing?

Thanks for any input. We have not been to Disneyland and I am reading as much as I can on here.

Disneyland gets busy during spring break. I don't think I would recommend that time of the year for first timers. However, it usually ends up being a two week window where this happens. So perhaps if you time it right you can still miss the higher attendance times.

P.S. nice post count.

It depends upon when the spring break is and when her fall break is. October at DLR is CRAZY! I'd not recommend Oct at all - September yes.

Now late March - April will have crowds. Although I'd imagine they won't compare to Oct crowds because spring breaks are spread out over two months.

Also - it will probably not be as hot in South CA in March or April as it would be in Sept or October.

We've been several times during spring break the last few years. It's been crowded but managable if you plan ahead. Get there AT OPENING. I can't stress that enough. DH, DS and i got there at opening both days we were there but DH's sister just couldn't manage to get herself over there early and by the time she got there (maybe 1.5 hours later), the lines were already long. She asked us if we had gone on any rides yet and i listed off about 6 or 7 that we had already been on. And of course make sure you collect FPs.

I've never been to WDW during spring break (only been there once) but i do know that DL can seem more crowded because the walkways are more narrow so be aware of that.

The weather should be better at DLR in the spring than WDW. It's possible there could be a heat wave but it won't be humid.

You are going to have to find someone who has been to both resorts in recent years during Spring Break. I have done neither. I can only tell you what I read and it sounds like WDW is crazy busy during Spring Break and DLR is just busy. So it is my impression DLR is not as bad as WDW.

Be aware that it appears Splash Mtn will be down for refurb during Spring Break 2011.

Thanks for the replies. Fall Break is the first week in October and Spring Break this year is the first week of April.

But it sounds like maybe April wouldn't be as bad there. I seriously don't think you could pay me to go to WDW during Spring Break.

I'm surprised October is so busy at Disneyland...I didn't expect that.

I'd definitely do early April over early October next year. Easter isn't until late in the month, so the first week won't be terrible. Early October has a lot of stuff going on and crowds have been pretty high these last couple of years.

It's not, but on days with the Halloween Party it is. You will find the same thing at the MK.

I've been to WDW during spring break a couple times once felt busy the other not. I think the second time it was because of a late Easter like 2011 has and it spreads the breaks out.

At DL during late March I found there is still a pronounced it's Friday let's go to the park all weekend but not on M-Th. Which is very typical for DLR.
