Im checking in for the first time as a member as well in about 24 hours. Can someone please help me out with setup instructions for using the internet at Saratoga Springs. Any special things we need to do? Passwords? Can I take my own router in order to create a wireless connection without much trouble? Thanks!!

For wired internet access you would just plug the ethernet cable in to your laptop and the jack in the room. Once you open your browser you accept the terms.

Yes you could connect a wireless router and make your own hotspot. If you use a wireless router at home and that's the one you take, again you just plug it in and accept the terms.

If you are a member staying on your points the internet is free. You will want to check your room charges to make sure you didn't get billed. If you did, just go to the front desk and they will remove the charges.

DH and I have just returned from SSR, we rented points and stayed in a studio in the Congress Park area from September 27 until October 3. DH took his laptop and we were online almost every day. We were not charged.

DVC Management has told me that villa wired internet access is free for anyone staying on points at a DVC Resort.

Wireless access is $9.95 per 24 hour period and is available at WDW Resorts, in the lobbies, common public areas and main pool areas.

I am posting from SSR. I get the same "$9.95/day" login screen when I open my browser as I did before free internet. Don't know whether that is normal but I surely will be checking my bill carefully on checkout.
I brought a new Airport Express router and it is working great. The wall connection is only at the desk in the bedroom here at SSR, as far as I can tell, so being wireless means I can sit in the living area while DH is still sleeping. The Express is so small and easy to pack (about 4 inches square and an inch deep) but I may just leave it in our Owner's Locker.

Yes we too got the $9.95 terms login screen 2 weeks ago at SSR. I called down to the front desk, and they said that everyone gets the same initial screen, but the computer reflects whether you are on points or not. I still verified my bill at the end, and was not charged.
