Thinking of going Thanksgiving week. WU says the highs range from the low sixties to the low eighties. Anyone been able to swim there during the Thanksgiving time frame? Are the pools and splash are heated? --Katie

Yes, they'll tell you they're heated - but not very much. It's not bath water, for sure. If it's cold out, it may not be comfortable for you or your little ones.

Having said that, the weather is extremely variable. We've been able to go swimming all week in early December. We've also gone when it's too cold in mid-November. It just depends.

We stayed there Thanksgiving of 2009 and didn't feel it was heated, but they said it was. We had one day that was in the 80s, so that's when we tried it again after the first cold night.

I think they're heated, just set pretty low. You'd have a hard time adjusting to a non-heated pool in the fall given the low 24h average temp. Even right now getting up to 80 doesn't mean much when the overnight temps are in the high 50's/low 60's. You have to be in a pretty hot climate to go without some form of heating for a pool and Anaheim just isn't hot enough.

Our water playground (slides, bucket, water guns, etc) is kept at 72 degrees and the todder pool is 80 degrees. I took my young boys out yesterday for "quality control" ;) and it was very comfortable!

The splash area was not heated when were there last week. It wasnt frigid cold but it sure as heck was not warm! I heard kids say that the wade pool next to the splash area was warm.... Probably from kids peeing in it... Just kidding... I think, lol :)
