My children 13 & 9 will experience their first Florida humidity this summer (end of May thru June 4) and I am somewhat worried. Being from AZ and it is already 100 by the end of April, we are used to heat - but a dry heat. But not the humidity.
I grew up in TN and vacationed every summer in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and know what to expect. My husband also lived in Florida at one time as an adult. When we visit family every summer in TN and VA, it takes me and the kids a couple of days to get used to the humidity again, but then we are fine. At least you can be outside during the day in the south. In AZ during the summer, you are only outside to get from one place to another, or you are in your pool.
We use these suggestions for daily summer survival in AZ, but I have found a few useful nuggets to apply to our vacation. I'm glad I found this thread.
