I mean we booked the CBR for oct 27-November 6.
We got the silver plan add on. WE got the 50.00 discount
from the disney club for 3100.00.

Last year we were at the POR for the same exact dates. same package with the DC discount for 3200.00

So how in the world is it only 100.00 less if we are getting 3 of the nights free?

>>Last year we received the value season rates case it ended Oct something at the end of the month...This is the only reason I can think if it not being that much cheaper. ....But shouldnt this year be the same rates aside from the whatever increase in price over one year....I mean that rate increase from last year to this year makes up the difference for 3 nights?

Im confused....Th0ought we were to save a few bucks here...

I think the FTP max economic benefit is at 7 nights and constitutes 7 nights for price of 4 with your stay longer than 7 nights could that be the issue?

Also what tickets did you use last year? AP or UPH/PH+?

Thanks
jaysue

Did I correctly calulate that you are staying for 9 nights?

First off, let me say that it may simply NOT be a good deal for your situation. And secondly, although you are basically getting the same package as last year (discovery magic?) the pricing has changed and it may be that you just can't compare.

And value season vs regular season can make a big difference! Value season starts nov 2.

Now for the more complicated part. :) Although you are getting 3 nights free, you are paying full rack rates for the other 6. Did you get the disney club discount last year? If so, that would be a discount off of the whole trip.

The fairytale package discount is best for the 7 nights, as jaysue said. For more than 7 nights you are adding on at the full price and decreasing your % discount.

You may want to consider changing your package to 7 nights on the FTP and 2 as room only (and hope you can get a discount later on those 2 nights). More discussion on http://www.mousesavers.com/fairytale.html

The FTP is good through Oct. 30th. So from the 31st to the 6th you are not getting the discount. I bet it would be cheaper if you moved your dates up a bit.

Generally, Disney rates (lower OR higher) stay the same as they are for the beginning of your trip. I'm not sure about the FTP, but normally their discounts are for stays beginning by a certain date. You don't have to complete the trip by that date.

The FTP works provided you CHECK IN by October 30. So that won't be the problem. It's the extra days at rack rate.

I agree with the optimum FTP package being seven nights. I priced out adding one night to a 7 night package at the GF Lodge Concierge (2 adults, 3 kids). It would have added over $700 to my existing $3200 package.

It's a good deal for my parents, they are staying 7 days at the BC and they saved $600. So basically they are getting their passes for free. It was not a good deal for us, we are staying 10 days at the BC and two of us are returning in October. The AP rate was a better deal for us. It all depends on your circumstances.

I'm going in August and saved $1,700.00 staying at Villas 1 bedroom at Wilderness Lodge.

I called DC last night again and asked her to explain the whole prediciment for me.
She said that we do have the faiery tale for the entire stay even though we are going into Nov. As long as you check in by October 30th.

She said that, as stated above, the real benefit is having only
a 7 night stay...Anything booked outside of 7 nights you are paying regular price therefore driving the price up to what it would normally be....And adding the silver is driving the price up.

And yes, though we are mirroring the same exact trip as last year
prices have gone up she said....this is the one im still sketchy about cause if prices had stayed the same we would be paying
around 500.00 less than last year rather than 100.00 less
So pricing went up by apprx 400.00 since last year if you were to take a similar trip as we have mirrored..thats a pretty big increase...but who am I?

So all is settled....Thanks for your kind responses
:)

Good luck whatever you decide to do! We booked the FTP for the 7 night stay, and added a night on as room only with an AP discount. That worked out the best for us. The 7 night window is the best economic use of the FTP.
