Is the Fantasmic Dinner Package Worth It?

To me, it just doesn't seem like it's worth it. For my family of 5, it would cost about $150 at RBT. Kinda pricey when I can just pull a FP for F! and still see the show. Will it be in the center? No. Do I have a chance at the front area if I get there early? Maybe. Will I spend that kind of money when I have a 3yo daughter who goes into full panic mode when the dragon appears? I don't see that happening. I can see haw the BB might be worth it if you're going there anyway and the cushion is something you'd like. But $42 for adults and $23 for kids at RBT???? Nope. For half that, I can go to Big Thunder Ranch where the food is waaaayyyy better and still pull a FP.

Guess it's a good thing my kid likes dragons. :)

Have you had the steak and shrimp plate that they're serving for the RBT Fantasmic Dinner?

Its not like you're being charged that money for their normal fare. Just FYI.

My whole reading behind doing it is to have a reserved place to sit. My son will sit and watch the show, he will not stand and watch the show. I get stuck holding a 30lb toddler, no thanks.

He's watched it on YouTube multiple times and loves it.

I did the Blue Bayou package and it was totally worth it (there were no children in the group, if that matters). The food was wonderful. The cushion was comfortable, which was good because you're sitting on pavement, basically. Also, we had an amazing spot to watch from. The people who book Blue Bayou get what is one of the best viewing areas (athough I don't have anything to compare it to since this was my first trip).

Why oh why are no Fantasmic packages available past February 28th?

What time or how long before the show did you line up or take your seat? We have BB dinner for F! On Sunday night first show this week.

Did you try calling Disney Dining? It wouldn't allow me to book anything online for February 6th but when I called, they had a bunch of times available. Might be worth a shot!

I called last week and was told March isn't open for booking yet. Since the website matches, I've just been assuming it is still that way - but you're right, I should call again just to check.

Can you post here if you are able to via phone? I too called last week and was told to keep checking online. My day is a little hectic and I can't call myself right now. Thanks.

Ugh, starting to worry about this. Really hoping to book it in March!

I have been checking the website daily and calling a couple times a week, including this afternoon (about an hour ago) for F! Dining. Still being told to check back as "the parks have not given dining the show schedules yet". Hope this helps as it sounds like we are all in the same boat.

Thank you! I tried calling on my break but was on hold for 10 minutes and had to hang up.

Count me as another one waiting to book for March! I'm taking DS7, and my good friend is bringing her DS6 for their first ever visit to any Disney park. We discussed our budget for meals, and she then put everything into my hands for planning since it's all new to them. I figured since it was their first trip we should definitely hit BB, and when I learned about the F! package I decided this would be perfect - get them to BB and get good seats for F! all in one. But it's driving me crazy that I can't book it yet!! The whole March schedule seems like it's showing up much later than usual this year, but maybe that's just me being anxious to get the major parts of our plan set in place.:confused3

Does Fantasmic typically run Sundays in off season? We will be there the first Sunday of May and hoping to do the dinner package then. I know to not expect it the rest of the week.

We haven't been for a couple of years so this is new for me: Are the dessert packages with actual seats discontinued? If so does that mean the only options are a dinner package with souvenir cushion or getting there early and sitting on the pavement?

The desert package is no longer available, but they do have a desert party, but no chairs to sit in. You get a reserved spot to sit on the pavement. Only the Blue Bayou dining package comes with a cushion. All other sections when you pull a regular FP are standing only.

Actually, the RBT is also seated--just no cushion. Just did this a week ago. I brought inflatable camp cushions which worked great and weren't bulky to carry in a backpack. It was much nicer than sitting on the bare concrete.

I am aware, I noted pulling a regular FP was all standing and only BB comes with a cushion. All other diners sit on the concrete, perhaps I should have made that more clear.

Ok. Just wanted to clarify--not criticizing. :). The whole process can be very confusing especially for first timers or peopke considering a dinner package.
