Is the Electric Water Parade fully operational?

We will be heading to WDW in 2 weeks and were wondering if the electric water parade is fully operational. I noticed on our trip in October that it was missing one float.

As of mid-December, the show was still shortened (per my parents, who recently returned from their visit).

During the first full week of Dec, there was a section - one with Stars - that was docked over in the boatyard area of Bay Lake. It didn't look damaged, but we were told to leave before we could get much closer.

Only the first group was operational (and one of its floats was missing) when we last saw it earlier this month. The song played for the float that was missing from the group, but it wasn't there. It jumps straight to the Yankee Doodle / Grand 'Ol Flag segment after the first set. (So, none of the songs from the second group plays.)

I wonder when / if they are planning to have it fully operational.

We made a big effort to go and see it for the first time around the first week in Dec. We packed up the kids, hot chocolate, waited for our bus at FW, ended up walking, got a spot on the beach and the whole thing lasted NO more than 4 minutes. I was hoping that it wasn't over, but no more ever came, so everyone left. :guilty: Now I see from the other posts that there must have been a malfunction. We'll have to catch it next time! :flower:

Not a malfunction. The EWP suffered from one of the 4 hurricanes that hit our state this season.

We were at the Polynesian and watched the ELP on 12/18. The octopus float is there, but not working. The rest of the show was fine.

Yes we were down there in early December and watched the show and sat there for five more minutes saying where is the other half?? We knew it was a lot longer but it was on for only a couple of minutes and then it was over. The only good thing was we got to see Wishes every night from the Poly. which more than made up for it pirate:

In early December (12-12) it was still a single string of barges. I commented on this in my after-trip survey and I got a message from WDW calling to tell me that it was damaged during the hurricanes and that it would be fixed soon. Welll, when we were there in May, it was also half missing. So, I'm not sure what the deal is. That's the problem with going some place for 20 years, you get used to stuff and ya just don't want it to change. The Cast member was probably thinking that I need to get a life! But it' still the greatest.

The water pageant went through full rehab early this year. This was timed well as much of it was later destroyed by the series of hurricanes. The parade should be back to normal soon I think. As for it not being fixed, the problem is that after four major hurricanes many things need to be fixed. Thousands of downed trees, themeing elements needing replaced, lights and signs broken, etc. They have fixed nearly everything, only some minor things remain such as this one. It will come back in time.

We just got back from WDW a few days ago after a 3 week trip. The first two weeks of the trip were the shortened version of the EWP. Sometime around the week of Christmas, though, they had the entire thing up and working ...... just like the old days. They still had a couple of glitches (if memory serves me correctly, it was with the turtle), but overall, it looked to be pretty much back to normal.

Just back and it was fully up and running again in perfect working order, watched it on 1/8 & 1/9 from the Polynesian.
