Is the Dining Plan the only way to discount meals?

I'm not doing the dining plan since it doesn't work for us... believe me I've thought about it. Is there any way to get general discounts on dining? I have the Disney Visa but it doesn't seem like that matters.

Any ideas??

Thanks!!

The only other way I know is to get the Disney Dining Experience Card. This card is available to Annual Passholders and Florida residents for a fee. I'm an AP and paid $60 for mine. It saves you 20% at most table service restaurants including alcoholic beverages. It won't work at counter service except at places where there is no table service (i.e. Value resort food courts, etc.) Depending on how long you're staying and where you plan on eating, it may be worth it for someone in your party to get the AP and the card. Since using the card (3 trips) I have easily saved $300.
