? Is the dining plan for us???

We will be at disney from Aug. 20-29. We only plan on spending one day in MK, one day in AK, another day at Epcot, another at Hollywood Studio, and one day at a water park. So, that is only 5 days out of the actual 7 days we will be in the parks. One of the other days we will rest and another day we would like to go to Sea World, I don't really think the meal plan will benefit us?? Now if the free meal plan comes out during our stay that might be another story. Right now we are getting a 20% discount on 2 standard rooms at POP, for $64.00/night for each room. So, that is a great deal, I think, but if the free dining comes out that might be a better deal???

It depends.In general those that stay at a value resort seethe most bang for their disney dollar with the free dining.However, you need to also use your credits to the fullest in order to make it a savings.You also need to secure Adrs for your table service meals, which can tie you into a schedule.Only you can decide for sure if it is the right option for your family.But I personally would probably go with the dining

The only way to tell if it works for your family is to do the math. You can go to allears.net to see all the menus and pricing. Don't compare what Disney says you can have on the plan (entree/dessert/drink) with the menu prices, compare how your family actually eats. Pretend you don't know the plan exists. That way you can get a good idea if it is a value for you or not.

We are doing the DDP this year and did it last year. Even though it is not as good a deal as it was last year, we are still saving some money. Everyone is different though.

On the days you do not do the parks you might like to eat at TS in one of the resorts like Chef Mickey at the Contemporary.

No matter how many times I've looked at it, the DDP does not make sense for us. But as others said, you need to decide for your family.

Do you have tickets purchased already? Because to add the DDP, you need to have some sort of ticket attached to the room. If you have to purchase a ticket that you don't need, your "savings" will need to be adjusted.

And for free dining, you will need to give up your 20% discount - you have to pay rack rate, and again include some sort of ticket purchased against the room.
