Is the deluxe dining plan worth it?

So me and my fiance will be travelling to Disney from the UK in june 2014. We're getting a really good deal with 35% off saratoga springs and free disney dining plan. Because that deal is so good we are debating whether or not to upgrade to deluxe dining for around another £350.
I personally think it would be good to get deluxe dining out of our system and see if it is good for us or not while we can get it cheap. I've figured out roughly where we would eat and it's looking like a TS breakfast or lunch and then a signature meal for dinner every day of our week long visit. I just can't decide if that would be too much or not?
Any opinions appreciated :upsidedow

If the deluxe plan appeals to you and is something you think will fit the way you'll eat on your trip, I think it's worth the upgrade from the free DDP as it will give you a chance to try it without paying full price for it. Some people love the regular DDP, some love the deluxe plan, while others don't like any DDP and will always pay OOP for their meals. It's all a matter of preference, IMO. With that said, if you will be doing a signature restaurant every night, I think the DlxDDP would be good to have. Good luck.

I asked the same question a week or so ago. I did the math on the OOP cost based on what my DH and I would potentially order at the restaurants I want to try and I came out well ahead than the cost. My only problem is that we wouldn't each eat an appetizer and dessert at each meal (most likely we'd share an appetizer or not get one at all). That being said, I'd rather eat at more signature restaurants which makes the DxDP more appealing!

The Deluxe dining plan worked well for us when we were only at WDW for 2 days.
2 meals we ate at Signature restaurant, then the morning before we left we used out last credits on a character breakfast.

It's my opinion that it is too much food for a long trip.... plus you'd always be at the mercy of a dining reservation. You'd be planning your entire trip around where you had to be next to eat.
I've found that the "regular" dining plan is plenty. Over the course of a 7 day trip we'd do 2 meals at signature restaurants, and eat dinner at a quick service on 2 nights. With all the food that's included we always have some quick service meals left over. Plus all those snacks, we use some of the snack credits for a light lunch.

In addition, we like to eat at Sci Fi Dine in Theater for lunch when we're at DHS, so we usually pay cash for this because it's so inexpensive. It's a waste of a meal credit to pay for a 10-12 $ meal.
