But maybe this 1 will be open for people to discuss this very sensitive topic and come up w/some ideas to help change it for the better...for eveyone...maybe like a sticky or super thread???

Lets work together and try not be be negative to both sides..understand the issue...and post your idea's!!

This is a new post and we have talked about it before...whats diff about this post is to what we can do to talk about it and try to have everyone get on board to fix it..i dont think thats a bad thing and we are all adults are we not??...please try to understand the op question before you post...think about it no matter what side your on...understand that a family of 5 from kentucky is trying to came down to wdw and money is tight...understand that that same family in florida or georgia is in the same boat...try to have a open mind to fix this so everyone can come...

there are SEVERAL threads on this and some end up closed. Good luck.

Well i know there is but maybe this 1 will be open for peps to discuss this very sensitive topic and come up w/some ideas to help change it for the better...for eveyone...maybe like a sticky or super thread???

I know I'm extremely tired but what is a pep? And why do you keep starting the same topic over and over? And why do I even open them? :coffee:

We have not noticed a problem with either the food or service our last few trips.

Of course, all of the threads on this is getting B O R I N G.

I think pep is pronounced pepes - like the marshmallow chicks you get at easter.

I think she is referring to her pepes and homeys in FLA.

I totally agree. Especially with the second statement.

I just posted, and I don't believe there is a problem to fix.

I do find it odd when a newbie shows up obsessed with one particular subject, and has no input on any other subject anywhere on the board.

Weird.

ReneeA...I am not a 'newbie'..show some respect please...i have offered a post to talk about this problem some people (peps) (dis) on this board will not give up i guess and talk about the issue...i was hoping for a better response and still do..i am not trying to take away anything from your family going to wdw..i am looking to improve things..i hope you understand this...and to say i dont have anything to give to this board is not true....this post proves that and that i care about the topic and everyones trip....

And many of us have answered, saying that we don't think there is a problem to fix. I like the DDP. I have had great service and food at WDW restaurants. And if I am unfortunate enough to have a bad experience at one of their establishments, I won't make the DDP the scapegoat.

I don't agree that there is a problem. I love the dining plan and while yes at times it is stressful to have to decide 6 months in advance where I am going to eat there was an element of that before the dining plan. Disney is making money on this deal so I don't really foresee there being a big change any time soon.

The most fascinating part about the OP is that everytime I re-read it, they've edited it and added another line of text. The first OP was just the :grouphug: and "discuss". Then they just kept editing and adding more commentary. They also edited their "pep" word so now my OP looks silly. But honestly, they said "pep" in the OP.

Oh, and I don't like peeps. They're too sticky. But I love the DP!!

I agree with the majority of the previous posters who say there is no evidence the dining plan is having any adverse effect on food or service. Restaurants are more crowded but any restaurant owner would look at that as a positive. Disney is standardizing some of the menus but the fact that they have done the same thing with the bar menus indicates the change is not DDP driven.

THE SOLUTION is for those few guests who have a problem is to find alternate restaurants to patronize. I'll agree last minute reservations are difficult but that's no different then trying to get a last minute reservation in the theater district of New York. Guests looking for on-property restuarants have V&A, Bistro, RFC, several restaurants in DTD, 3 fine restaurants in S/D and 2 buffet restaurants in the S/D. Guests looking for an off property restaurant have countless restauranties including some in City Walk and in Universal hotels.

The same handful of posters, many who live in the Florida, resent the DDP. Their real issue/agenda is the difficulty in getting last minute reservations and finding full restaurants.

Restaurats always change menus.

Sorry but there really isn't anything to fix. Disney could have excluded one or more signature restaurants from the plan but Disney likes the increased business.

It's interesting that many of the "complainers" point to the reduced revenue attributed to the DDP but many of the same "complainers" use the DDE discount program.
