Is the boat ever not full?

I know certain times of the year seem to be more popular as cost so much more $$$$, but in the end, does it seem like the boat ends up being full during off season too due to lower prices. We went in May when school seemed to be mostly in session everywhere, and there were still lots of kids...

I took a three day cruise in early December of 1999 and our server told us that the ship was only at about 60% capacity...not very crowded at all.

Good question, and I think I might find out when we go in September. There are still Cat. 4,5,6,8 and 9 available for our dates. And thats even after they released Florida Resident rates today.

In 38 Disney cruises, many of which are in winter or hurricane season, we've hit a few where the ship was definitely not full. On one, the dining room during late seating was half empty, as was the theater during the shows. Personally I didn't like it because it was missing the "energy" that a crowd brings. I'd rather sail with it full than with it being a ghost town.

we've only cruised one time (so far) - mid November 2003 - and the ship was not full - there were several staterooms that were not full (enabling someone in our group to be moved to a new room mid-cruise due to nonfunctioning air conditioning) and both dinner seatings had quite a few empty tables every single night. So I'd say there's a least a few cruises that sail and are not 100% full. :teeth:
