Is the 2nd time as good as the 1st?

Hi All,
I'm leaving Saturday for my 2nd voyage on the Magic. I'm a little worried that the 2nd time will not be as much fun as the first.

The first time everything is so new, exciting and fun. Now I know what to expect.

Just wondering what experiences you guys out there have had on your 2nd cruise. Is it a letdown?

I want to prepare myself and don't want to be let down.

Thanks.

you will definitely not be disappointed. we have been on 5 disney cruises and each time we discover new things. in addition, to the changes that disney makes, the ship is always immaculately clean and well furbished. cruises 2 through 5 were like seeing an old friend. we always enjoyed meeting new cms.

i would say we enjoyed subsequent cruises even more. are you going on a different itinerary?

Going on my 14th DCL cruise this August....it keeps getting better and better for me...almost like "going home" with seeing all my CM friends I have made over the course of our cruises!!!!

I know exactly what to expect so it makes so much more relaxing and familiar.

We enjoyed our second cruise, as much, if not more, than the first one.

We did our third cruise on the Magic this past January, this cruise was very Magical as well, and we booked our next Magic cruise onboard for August 2006. I guess you can say we are hooked!!!

We will be going on our 7th Disney cruise next month. I truly enjoy it more each time. I love knowing what to expect. That way I know what to avoid and when the best times are for what I want to do. DH and I even had a blast last Sept. when we had really rough seas and missed CC because we had to outrun hurricane Jeanne.

More satisfied customers here too! Just done our 2nd back-to-back, and also done 2 week-long cruises=weeks' on the Magic. Have to say, it just gets better and better. Maybe as we too have so many CM friends onboard, it feels like "going home" to the "family". We still have not done all the activities on offer, so may just have to go again! Nat :cool1:

I thought the 2nd time was better...and the third time better than the second, and so on. Like someone else said, you have a better idea of what's going on and the things you want to see and do and those that you can skip. (Typically there are 2 or 3 fun things going on at once so chances are you didn't get the opportunity to participate in some things that you wanted to.)

When you get into the atrium, it really does feel like you are back home again. One thing that always amazes me is that the crew members remember you too. We had a server in 1999, when we cruised last December (almost 5 years later), he spotted us in Topsiders having breakfast and came over to chat. This has happened on each one of our Disney sailings (in fact on one sailing it was a server who was at the next station and didn't even wait on us), and continues to amaze me and certainly makes you feel like you are back among family.

It's does get better each time for us! This past one, we did not get to any of our ports due to hurricanes and we still had a blast!
We know so much more with each cruise and it really, really feels like home!

Our first was a 4 night, so when we took our 2nd, which was a 7 night. we were blown away! Then we went on our 3rd, also 7 night, a little afraid it wouldn't be as awesome, but we were wrong! Now we've done a total of 5 cruises and each and every time our expectations have been met or exceeded. It is so cool to come back on board, know your way around and be more familiar with shipboard life. That gives you a lot more time to just enjoy being on the ship and take more advantage of all that they offer.

Now because we know what to expect and that we feel like we get our money's worth, we're trying to make this our annual "big" vacation. To us it's worth every cent because we know we'll have a great time.

We are going on our 3rd cruise in June '06. The second time was just as good if not better than the first time. :goodvibes And plus... There's NO WAY you could have done everything the first time. So there's always new stuff to do.

I actually enjoyed our second cruise better than the first because in between I found these boards and was much better prepared for the second one. There are always new things to do and see each time we cruise. Our 5th is coming up this summer.

For the alternate view:
We liked our first cruise WAY better than our second cruise...

However, I think it was mainly due to the fact that our first cruise was a 7 day, and our second cruise was a 3 day. We learned on our second cruise that short cruises weren't for us. (That's why we decided to make our 3rd cruise 14 days)

We will be going on our 10th cruise in 2 weeks and we are still just as excited as the first one in 2000-

You always learn something new and it does feel like you are coming home. Once I get in the atrium - a sense of calm comes over me :cool1:

Enjoy!

I like many thought the second time was even better. We were familiar with the layout of the ship plus we did not feel as rushed as the first time.

We've taken 6 and have two more booked so I'd say they get better!

The nicest thing between the first time and second time is that you now know your way around the ship.

Enjoy!

I'd have to say that our 2nd was at least as good as our first. One of the things that surprised me the most about our first cruise was the way all of the CM's go out of their way (imho) to make each and every guest feel special. I was already expecting to feel special on the 2nd cruise ... and the CM's didnt' dissapoint :cool1: We've got #3 booked for November and I'm already getting super-excited ... nothing like wishing away my summer before spring even reaches New England

Our second was better than the first and the third was better than the second and the fourt was better than the third......just hoping that our 5th and 6th we have booked get better and better........ :cool1:

Our second was as good if not better than our first. We were traveling the same route, since that's what worked out with spring break, so we did something different in one port and tried a few new activities on the ship to change the experience. We also dressed for pirate night for a change, as we had not dressed specially for tropical night on our first cruise, and that was fun.
